Good day all...

We are posting to both those in need and those that are willing to help any way they can.
All eligible past needy families with youth attending the Springfield School system K-8 grade were sent their letter and form the end of August, to be filled out and return to us by September 30th. As of today we have NOT received forms or replies from many of these families. We want to help but we can't help if you don't help us.

To any new families that are seeking help please contact us ASAP so we can talk and see how we can help you. Contact information will be at the end of this post.

To all the wonderful businesses and individuals in and around our wonderful community we want to thank you for what you already do to help the Santa Claus club help both our local families with outerwear, gifts for the holiday, and our needy seniors which their totals keep growing. Many businesses take our wish tags for their employees to fill, others post these tags in their businesses for the community members to grab and fill. These tags will be given to the businesses in a couple weeks. Please be looking. For those that don't like to shop we of course accept monetary donations. The usual donor letter will be in the mail within a week. BUT if you haven't been one of our previous donors but would like to help please us the contact information below. t

Congratulations to our resident elf and leader of the pack, Jean Patoine, for her years of dedicated volunteer work for the Springfield Santa Claus Club. We love you Jean!
2021 Citizen of the Year!!!!!

01/11/2022

The Santa Claus club would like to thank the many individuals and businesses that helped make the 2021 season another success in spite of never-ending COVID restrictions.
In a normal year we have a give-a-way of outerwear in October for the youth. We were able to do a modified version, without having the ability to have the youth being able to try them on for sizing. In December we were able to do our modified gift give-a-way. These are all based on the needs of families and seniors.
The generosity and caring is especially appreciated again in this trying year. Because of your generosity the Santa Claus Club was able to help make the holidays a lot brighter for many children and seniors. This year we helped 108 families/255 kids and 90 seniors. Also a special thank you to Trisha Paradis, Family Center Executive Director, and volunteers for a great job working with us and for supplying the meals that were requested.
2021 is the fourth year we have co-directed the Santa Claus Club and are thrilled at what has been accomplished by the wonderful community members and the great volunteers we had helping in one way or another.
If you would like to get involved in any capacity, we can always use the help. Give us a call or leave us a message on our page, Springfield Santa Claus Club.
Thank you one and all for your support through this holiday season. We wish you and yours a very happy and healthy 2022.

The Springfield Santa Claus club is in full swing. Outer wear was handed out in October to 198 kids, unlike last year when items were added to the December gift bags, due to Covid concerns. With the arrival of colder weather, the warm coats, boots and snow pants were well received. Mittens and hats lovingly made by the many community volunteers were also included in the bags. Handmade lap quilts will be given to the elders in their gift bags in December.
Several local businesses and churches have gift tags to choose from if individuals would like to purchase a gift for a child or elder and return it to the business for pick up, i.e., Community Bank, 802 Credit Union, Images Hair Salon, Willow Farm Pet, Springfield Family Eye Care, Springfield Elks Club, St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
With December fast approaching, we are still looking for volunteers to help pick up gifts at area businesses and churches and bring packages up two flights of stairs and sort gifts out into gift bags.. If interested in volunteering, please call Carol Knight at (802) 591-3066 or Jean Patoine at (802) 591-7230
Our gift bag giveaway will take place at the Springfield Family Center at 365 Summer Street in Springfield on December 18th. Parents will be given a specific time to come to the center and pick up the gift bag via the front porch. Masks are encouraged.
Elder gift bags will be delivered, with added precautions in place, with the leadership of Marty Hammond.
If you wish to donate and help a child or elder have a happy holiday, see the go fund me link below, or as always, donations can be mailed to the Springfield Santa Claus Club, 365 Summer Street, Box 229, Springfield, VT 05156.
We wish to thank the individuals, businesses and churches that have already donated funds, taken tags, donated gifts, knitted and quilted. The Santa Claus club wouldn’t be able to do what we do without the community. Thank you all so much.
