8th Gelfuso went 3-1 on the weekend with a 1 point loss in the championship game to fellow Magic 8th grade - Sears

Two wins Saturday and then started off Sunday competing in a hard fought 1 point over time thriller against a team from Rip City. Amare Munoz anchored us offensively with his consistent play. Wesley Root worked hard on both sides of the ball. Rocco Albansese and Brayden Bundy were stoppers on defense while Daren Fournier provided a boost of energy when he entered the game, dominating the offensive glass and out hustling his opponents. Rah Antone was super aggressive on the defensive side. The squad had three one point battles throughout the weekend!

Jarriell Dilone led the way with 20 pts while also creating many open looks for his teammates! Cooper Korytkowski was on fire in the semi finals scoring 25 points and brought the same fire to the championship game hitting 4 clutch 3 pointers!! Darwin Mayo controlled the glass and finished with 6 steals to help the boys overcome RABC!

What a great weekend for 8th Lunn finishing 2–1!

Leading the way offensively were PJ Williams, Tony Iliano, and Ben Paulson, who paced the team in scoring. Every player contributed to the team’s success, making an impact on both ends of the floor and demonstrating the importance of teamwork and playing together. The team’s effort, intensity, and ability to create opportunities through tough defense and smart ball movement made for a strong weekend. Great job by everyone contributing to the team’s success! Keep building on this momentum! 💪🏀

9th Briggs had an undefeated weekend with all 4 wins by double digits, culminated by a 63-43 win in the championship game. It was a team effort with 4 players in double figures (Wesley Trost, Anthony Gentles, Trey Plunkett, Miles Welch) and another with 9 off the bench (Jace Conrad). But it was the team’s unique player-led defense that setup their success. The team was able to consistently pressure and confuse their opponents by playing multiple defenses, resulting in regular offensive transition opportunities that they capitalized on to great success. They will look to build on their success next weekend!
