The North Brunswick Humane Association is a volunteer 501(C)(3) non-profit Association serving the Brunswick area with the purpose of educating and guiding our community in the humane treatment of animals. Through education we hope to raise awareness and stop the cruel, senseless and inhumane treatment of animals. We support community groups, civic organizations, animal rescue groups, and others w
ho are interested in promoting the well-being of animals and offering protective services. Our Kindness Program is an education program for third graders in the Brunswick area schools. The Kindness Program focuses on responsible pet ownership and living harmoniously with our wildlife. We believe that an end to animal cruelty and a reduction of the overpopulation of animals must start with educating our children. Our Pet Food Bank Program collects and distributes pet food to needy pet owners in our area. We believe that no one should have to relinquish their pet because they cannot afford pet food. NBHA is committed to providing pet food to pet owners in need. Our Spay Neuter Assistance Program provides subsidies to local rescues and shelters. Our annual Super Cat Adoption Day, held in June, provides a forum for local rescues and shelters to bring their cats to the people. Our TNR Program for Community Cats provides outreach and training for community cat caretakers and those interested in building safe communities for our free-roaming cats. We also provide financial and technical assistance for residents and caretakers who want to help community cats. Through education and advocacy we hope to encourage tolerance for community cats. Our Annual Dog Walkathon/Dog Adoption Day, held in October, brings the community together to show their love for our dogs. Hundreds of people and dogs participate every year.
