Hope For Cats, Inc. HFC is a nonprofit 501c3, volunteer-run organization which runs Jake's Place, a cat shelter serving the the Buffalo, NY and it's surrounding suburbs.

Our mission is to rescue, shelter & socialize cats in a home-like environment until they can be adopted. We receive no federal or state fund for support and are solely dependent upon fundraising events, adoption fees, foundation grants and private donations to support Jake's Place, a limited-admission, no-kill, cage-free cat shelter and adoption center. Each cat remains in our care, either at Ja

ke's Place or in a foster home until being placed into their forever home. All of our cats are spayed or neutered and receive their necessary vaccines. Every cat is given a thorough check-up each day to identify any potential health problems. Jake's Place has a daily schedule of feeders, cleaners, and health checkers who see to the needs of the cats and keep them clean, healthy and happy in a loving, home-like environment. Our goal is to find a loving home for every cat we rescue.

As Give 716 comes to a close, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude.

We are truly humbled and deeply touched by the outpouring of love and support for our rescue and the cats who depend on us.

Every dollar represents someone who believes that every cat deserves safety, medical care, a full belly, and the chance to find a loving forever home. Your kindness gives scared kittens hope, provides lifesaving veterinary care, and helps us say ā€œyesā€ when another cat needs us most.

Hope for Cats Inc. is a 100% all-volunteer organization, so every dollar you donate goes directly toward the care of our cats and kittens.

Give 716, Western New Yorkā€™s biggest day of giving, hosted by the Buffalo Bills Foundation and Buffalo Sabres Foundation, kicks off today at 7:16 p.m. and runs through Thursday, July 16, at 11:59 p.m.

As an added bonus, everyone who donates $50 or more from 8 pm to 11:59 pm on July 16 will be eligible for a Golden Ticket drawing, with opportunities to win one-of-a-kind Bills and Sabres experiences, including game tickets, jerseys, pennants and more!

Hope for Cats is an all-volunteer rescue, which means every dollar you donate goes directly toward helping cats in need.

šŸ’™ Meet Grady, a 2-year-old cat surrendered after his caregiver was evicted. During his first veterinary visit, a heart murmur was detected. A follow-up echocardiogram revealed an extremely rare congenital defect affecting the right side of his heart. Thanks to the care he received, Grady is doing well today with four daily medications that support his cardiac function.

šŸ¾ Then thereā€™s Possum, one of five kittens rescued with her mom from Niagara Falls. The entire family has been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and given the care they needed to thrive. Today, Possum is happily settled into her forever homeā€”alongside another Hope for Cats alumnus who was adopted with her!
