Raff had eye laser treatment recently and is doing well. He will be followed up with more vets in the future, to see if there is any difference in his eye and if it is stable or might need to be removed, though not at this stage now. Once we determine if his urine issue is going well, he'll be up for adoption, after his neuter scheduled for June 25th. Raff is a great cat who will make a wonderful soulmate for loving pet parent(s). Thank you to everyone who has been able to donate something toward his vet care. We deeply appreciate your help and care.
BCCC recently welcomed 2-years-old "Raff" to our foster program, after he was peeing blood, was brought to a vet hospital, where his former owner proceeded to abandon him. Tewksbury Animal Control contacted BCCC to see if we could take Raff and, of course, we said "yes". After going to our vet, we learned Raff had more than a peeing issue (which now appears to be resolved), when our vet found unusual markings in his left eye. So, back to the same hospital Raff went for an ophthalmologist visit. There, it was determined Raff does have something unusual in his eye and is scheduled for laser surgery next week. Raff is the sweetest guy - loves people, just wants to give and receive adoration all the time !
In addition to recent costs, Raff's laser surgery is estimated to be about $3700. After the procedure is done and the eye site heals, vets will check again to see if he needs another laser round or potentially, even his eye removed, if there is cancer.
If you'd like to help toward Raff's medical care, in any amount, please feel free to donate at: www.billericacatcarecoalition.org/donate or mail a check to: BCCC, P.O. Box 141, North Billerica, MA 01862 From all of us at BCCC, and, especially from Raff, thank you!
