Tuesday we had the chance to teach the first graders at The Nokesville School about growing pumpkins by reading From Seeds To Pumpkins and sharing some fun facts! Did you know the biggest pumpkin pie ever made was 350 lbs?!?! While we didn’t make a pie like that we did make pumpkin pie in a bag! So much fun!!

Day 3 of the 99th National FFA Convention started with breakfast at the Lincoln Square Pancake House. It was so good!!! Then on to Ozark Fisheries where we learned about their aquaculture facility and business. It was fascinating!! Then lunch at Culver’s and next we went on a tour of Risin Creek Goat Dairy and Creamery where we learned about their herd, breeding schedules, genetics, milking goats, and how they make their ward winning goat cheese. Last event of the day was the rodeo! A great day today!

Day 2 of the 99th National FFA Convention! We received our National Chapter 3-Star Award at Lucas Oil Stadium! Also visited the National FFA and NFA Archives Indiana University in Indianapolis. A big thank you to Meg who pulled some artifacts about the very early days of our chapter and Virginia and has them out and ready for us to look through. It was great to see all those things and learn more about our history. And then there was the National FFA Expo where we talked with many, many different ag colleges, businesses, and organizations. What a day! 💙💛
