Ali Yankey - 13th in Senior Livestock Judging out of 149 contestants

Days 2 & 3 of the 100th FFA State Convention are in the books. Members competed in Livestock Judging, Ag Mechanics, and Turf Management on Tuesday, and attended a workshop. Chloe and Samantha were part of the Delegates on the Program of Activities committee where they helped make recommendations on the state POA.
Wednesday was another adventure with teams competing in Day 2 of Food Science, Nursery/Landscape, Farm Business Management, and Hippology.
AND…Hunter Ringer received his STATE DEGREE! So proud of you, Hunter!!!!

We have a STATE CHAMPION!!!!
Congratulations Kevin Hernandez on placing first in the Spanish Creed Speaking contest! He will compete next at the National FFA contest in October! So proud of you for all your hard work and preparation for this contest!

100th Virginia FFA State Convention kicked off yesterday and 14 of our members are here!! Our Food Science team made it to Day 2 and will compete again on Wednesday!
Our chapter received the National Chapter award, State Superior Gold Award, and the Public Relations Bronze Award!
Members also competed in Vet Science, Spanish Creed, Floriculture, and Scrapbook.
Results to come on Thursday.

Our annual banquet was held this evening to celebrate our year, our incredible officer team and members, our two senior officers, Hunter and Ethan, senior member, Caleb, hand out awards and Greenhand and Chapter degrees, announce the recipient of the first ever Brad Douglas Memorial scholarship, and announce our 2026-2027 officer team.
Bradford N. Douglas Award and the Brad Douglas Scholarship was giving to Hunter Ringer.
Our Star Greenhand was Kevin Hernandez.
To Hunter, Ethan, and Luke - we are so proud of you! Thank you for your time, energy, and dedication to the FFA. We know you will do amazing things! This is not goodny but See You Later!

🌱 Plant a Row for the Hungry 🌱

Come by BDHS in front of the memorial garden and pick up a couple of free vegetable plants to grow for local families in need. Donate the produce to a food bank, pantry, shelter, or a neighbor in need!
