🎄Stop by the East Lyme Public Trust Foundation tent in front of St. John's Episcopal Church from 3-7pm during Celebrate East Lyme to buy your buoy! ELPT & Niantic Main Street are partnering for Buoys by the Bay, a special holiday fundraiser.

Purchase a buoy ($50) and decorate it to be displayed on a group of colorful and stylistic holiday trees, inspired by animated holiday classics, in the Main Street Park! The tree display will run from Nov. 17 to Jan. 15. Afterwards, the buoys will be returned for their owners to cherish. Be one of the first people to purchase a buoy and to plan your design.

After Celebrate East Lyme Day, buoys will be available at Mermaid Liquors and Coastal Gifts On Main. (Cash or check only.)

⭐️🍿GLSA will be having another virtual popcorn fundraiser to benefit improvements at our park!

With about half of GLSA Dues still unpaid, this has caused another year of huge financial strain on the Association. Paying insurance and taxes is the priority (to protect liability of all members, including those who refuse to pay their share) which doesn’t leave much for maintenance and improvements at the park. We are hoping to raise some money to make improvements such as replacing the shed, buying new benches, a bike parking rack, etc. With some community support we can help to make the park a little more pleasing and functional for those who do spend time there… and the bonus is yummy popcorn! 50% of all sales benefit GLSA! Please support and share this fundraiser!

Anyone in the neighborhood have a minute to meet with me (Mary Massey) down at our boat rack to discuss options for it?? My husband volunteered to make it more sturdy but we're not boat people and want some input. (Pic for attention)

Concern has been expressed over the removal of boats and kayaks from the Park and it has been brought to our attention that there are State statutes regarding the process of the removal of “abandoned vessels,” which are governed by the DEEP. Therefore, we will not be taking any action with regard to removing left behind boats and kayaks at this time and bidding has been cancelled.

Our intention is to make the Park a safe and enjoyable space as well as honor what the majority of residents want. We are trying to balance the amenities already available with safety/liability concerns and our limited budget. Our VP’s husband has volunteered to repair and secure the boat rack at minimal expense to the Association in order to reduce the prior safety concern and allow us to keep the boat rack. We hope to have these repairs done soon. We will update members when the boat rack is repaired and kayaks/boats can be returned to the Park. Please be aware that all paying members may leave their kayaks/boats at the Park but the boat rack is first come, first served and GLSA is not responsible for any stolen or damaged property.
