Three Organizations. One Mission. 💚👟

As we count down to the 2026 Catawba County Hunger Walk, we're highlighting the three organizations that make this event possible. This week, we're shining a spotlight on Ashure Ministry !

Ashure Ministry is a Christian organization serving all of Catawba County with crisis financial services and a food pantry. In 2025, the ministry provided more than 3.3 million pounds of food through 63,521 food pick-ups for individuals and families facing food insecurity. Fresh produce accounted for 29% of every food distribution, helping provide nutritious food options to those in need.

In addition, Ashure Ministry distributed more than $976,000 in financial assistance to help local residents remain housed, keep utilities connected, and meet other critical needs.

Every step taken during the Catawba County Hunger Walk helps support life-changing work like this here in our community.

Because of your generosity, we are able to provide fresh, nutritious vegetables in our upcoming meals. Access to healthy food makes a real difference, and your support is helping us feed the community.

Another Lunch and Learn complete!

The Corner Table/Backpack Program has partnered with the Catawba County Library System every Wednesday for Lunch and Learn in Conover.

While The Corner Table is known for serving a hot, nutritious meal the library system has set up a welcoming space filled with books, crafts and fun games for all ages.

This collaboration turns a simple meal into an exciting morning of creativity, learning, and connecting with the community. Come join in the fun on Wednesdays at 11:00.

These photos are from last week's Lunch & Learn in Conover, where children and families enjoyed a meal, explored books from the library, and participated in fun activities together. ❤️

Join us again tomorrow from 11:00 AM–12:30 PM at 111 Herman Sipe Road in Conover. Through this partnership, we're helping ensure children have access to meals while school is out, while also encouraging reading, learning, and connection.

Do you have a passion for numbers and a heart for making a difference in your community?

The Corner Table is seeking a detail-oriented, trustworthy, and experienced Part-Time Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations for our growing nonprofit organization. This position plays a vital role in ensuring strong financial stewardship as we work to provide meals and hope to neighbors affected by hunger.

✔ Flexible schedule
✔ Approximately 15–20 hours per week
✔ Hybrid work option available
✔ Competitive compensation based on experience

The ideal candidate will have accounting experience, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy and integrity. Experience with QuickBooks Online and nonprofit accounting is preferred.
