"My oldest son was 2 when we became eligible to start receiving books thanks to a very generous donation from some gold-hearted local folks. Reading has always been a huge part of my life, thanks to my Mama who loves books as much as I do (my favorite place to go as a kid was the closest public library). I wanted that love of reading to continue on into our next generation! The Imagination Library is amazing for that! We have received so many wonderful stories including many featuring diverse characters and cultures that have led to curiosity, questions and more learning. I can’t say enough good things about the program or about Dolly herself. She was a beautiful human being and we all need to make sure her light keeps on shining bright!" Few people have inspired generations quite like Dolly Parton. Through her music and generosity, Dolly demonstrated the power of giving back and lifting others up.

One of the millions inspired by Dolly is CNU alumnus Kyle DeGood '20. While a student, Kyle created a foundation rooted in Dolly's belief that books can open doors and change lives. His DeGood Foundation partners with Parton's Imagination Library to provide books to young children.

Since Dolly's passing, our community has shown up in ways we could never have imagined. More than 700 new children have enrolled in our local Imagination Library 📚

Our small volunteer team has been working around the clock, answering calls, emails, and messages, building new partnerships, and processing enrollments and donations as fast as we can. It is the best kind of overwhelming, and we need your help to keep up with it.

Dolly's family asked that in lieu of flowers, people consider a gift to the Imagination Library. You can support your local Imagination Library at the link in the comments, either with a one time gift or by joining The Book Club, our monthly giving community.

Monthly giving is the best way to support us right now. It ensures we can keep mailing free books to every child we have enrolled, without interruption, and keep meeting the demand we know is still coming.

We are so happy to partner up with The DeGood Foundation and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to get more books into the hands of our beautiful Williamsburg community. Come see us today, order a Mariposa, and we will donate those sales to a cause that means so much to so many. We will offer a mocktail AND a cocktail version of this drink. We are open from 11:30am for brunch (get the Surry Sausage Biscuits and Gravy, trust me!) and dinner until 9pm.
