In 2022 alone, we generated an estimated 62 million tonnes of electronic waste worldwide, yet only 22.3% was formally collected and recycled. When tech isn't disposed of properly, informal recycling methods release dangerous toxins into the environment, causing severe health risks

Small choices make a massive difference. Join LES Ecology Center and us and do your part by bringing your old electronics to our E-Waste Recycling Day on October 25 from 10 am-2pm.

Yesterday, our hearts were full as our community came together at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan to reflect, connect, and find strength in one another. 💙

Throughout October 7, our lobby became a space for reflection and connection through the Strokes of Hope art exhibition by Zeev Engelmayer and moving musical performances. We closed the evening with a powerful Shira Be’Tzibor community sing-along, led by our Musician-in-Residence, Marc Luban, as voices joined together in song, solidarity, and hope.

Seeing so many people fill our space throughout the day warmed our hearts. In moments of grief, there is something extraordinary about the comfort of community and the powerful reminder that we are not alone.

It is both a privilege and an honor to serve this community and provide a space where people can gather, share experiences, and find connection. This is at the heart of what the JCC strives to be: a home for community and belonging.

To everyone who joined us, shared their voices, or simply stood alongside a neighbor, thank you. You reminded us of the strength we find in coming together.

May we continue to find light, hope, and strength in one another. 💙

On October 7, we invite our community to come together at the JCC for a day of remembrance, reflection, music, and connection as we mark three years since the attacks of October 7, 2023. Come for a few moments or stay with us longer — our lobby will be a space to remember, to listen, to reflect, and simply to be together.

Throughout the day, visit Strokes of Hope, an exhibition of drawings by Israeli artist Zeev Engelmayer from his Daily Postcard project, created during the war to bring hope to the families of the hostages and the fallen, and to the people of Israel. At noon and 2 pm, join us in the lobby for reflective live music alongside the exhibition.

At 6 pm, we will gather for Shira B’tzibur/Community Sing, led by our Musician in Residence, Marc Luban. When words are not enough, we turn to music — and to the songs we know by heart — to remember, to mourn, and to find strength in one another.

Last night we began to honor October 7th at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan with a screening of Me, Okay? About Eden Yerushalmi who was taken captive by Hamas from the Nova Festival. We were honored to have Arbel Ashkenazy (Nova survivor, Eden Yerushalmi's best friend) with us along with the filmmakers. Tonight, we continue to keep these stories alive with a screening of Bridge at 7pm.

Sukkot at the JCC was unforgettable! 🌿✨ Rooftop views, art, and community, the energy was pure joy. You can still visit our rooftop sukkah and 7th floor terrace sukkah/art installation (IMKHA by Tobi Kahn) during open hours for meals and celebrations, or swing by our sidewalk sukkah right on Amsterdam Ave! 💛 Link in bio for the hours of each sukkah.
