Originally chartered in 1965, Troop 12 is the longest continuously operating troop in New Lenox. Troop meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. every Tuesday (except the first Tuesday) of each month, at Lincolnway Christian Church. As a Scout-led troop, we follow the Patrol Method. The boys are empowered to become leaders, and be led by others, in a safe environment. Patrols work in teams and develop the critical planning and decision-making skills they'll need, and use, throughout life. Scouts in Troop 12 share the duty of guiding the success of the troop, while also learning from each other's mistakes. With support, assistance, and coaching from the Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmasters, Committee members and parent volunteers, Troop 12 Scouts learn how to help the community, preserve the environment, and explore their surroundings while having lots of fun.
