Troop 12 - New Lenox, IL Scouts BSA Scout-led troop based in New Lenox, IL. Home of over 100 Eagle Scouts, and counting! We are Scouts BSA Troop 12, based in New Lenox, Illinois.

Originally chartered in 1965, Troop 12 is the longest continuously operating troop in New Lenox. Troop meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. every Tuesday (except the first Tuesday) of each month, at Lincolnway Christian Church. As a Scout-led troop, we follow the Patrol Method. The boys are empowered to become leaders, and be led by others, in a safe environment. Patrols work in teams and develop the cr

itical planning and decision-making skills they'll need, and use, throughout life. Scouts in Troop 12 share the duty of guiding the success of the troop, while also learning from each other's mistakes. With support, assistance, and coaching from the Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmasters, Committee members and parent volunteers, Troop 12 Scouts learn how to help the community, preserve the environment, and explore their surroundings while having lots of fun.

Canoe believe it?!? A group of our scouts, leaders, and parents are camping and canoeing/kayaking down the Namekagon River. 🛶 Troop 12 goes with the flow.

Spending a few days and nights exploring nature, navigating the river, and feeding the local mosquito population is good for soul.

In case of emergency, they all know exactly what to do if their canoe tips over. Simply pick it up and wear it on their head. Why? Because it’s cap-sized…😏

Troop 12 is returning home today after an amazing week at Ed Bryant Scout Reservation. The scouts’ brains are sure to be filled with all kinds of new information, ready to put it to good use. Our adult leaders are most certainly ready for a well-earned nap. 😴

Our troop is loaded with incredible volunteers! Thank you for giving your time and energy to help the boys succeed at summer camp, and all year long!

Yet another trip to White Pines Forest State Park is in the books. Camping at White Pines is a Troop 12 tradition, and this year helped prove why.

Cool nights and warm days made for excellent camping conditions. Trails were hiked, fish were NOT caught (seemingly another Troop 12 tradition), and we even had the chance to visit a modern-day castle.

All in all, it was another great outing for Troop 12!

We want to express our heartfelt thanks to Renee and the Ambrosino team for kindly donating a variety of sandwiches with all the fixings. This generous gesture enabled our team of scouts and parents to focus on one of our scout's Eagle projects without worrying about getting hungry. The sandwiches were delicious and greatly appreciated. It's essential to support small businesses that actively contribute to the community's well-being, and Ambrosino's has consistently demonstrated its commitment to excellence.

Yesterday it was great to see the Scouts and Leaders of Troop 12 working hard to help make another Eagle Project become a reality. This is the way we continue to grow and have been established since 1965. We currently have 3 Scouts working on their projects getting ready to earn the highest rank in Scouting. Keep up the great work boys. You will achieve amazing things.
