JOB INTERVIEW 🗣️📋📁📎
On Wednesday, October 14th, Cardington FFA attended the County Job Interview Contest at Mt. Gilead High School. 15 Cardington FFA members prepared resumes and cover letters, and conducted mock interviews with local industry professionals to test their interview and employability skills.

At the County Contest, Lily Moodispaugh, Eli Damron, and Mason Newsome all won their respective divisions, qualifying to the Sub-District Contest.

MEET THE OFFICER: Ky Barlow! Ky is currently serving as our Assistant Secretary. Her favorite FFA Activity is New Member Night. Her favorite SAE is her paid placement horse project and her favorite CDE is parliamentary procedure. Her hobbies include competition dance, cheer, and reading. MEET THE OFFICER: Bristal Cain! Bristal is currently serving as our secretary. Her favorite FFA activity is FFA Camp. Her favorite SAE is the market rabbit project and her favorite CDE is parliamentary procedure. She enjoys playing softball, shopping, thrifting, and fishing. 30 Cardington FFA Members spent the day at Flying Squirrel Preserve for the Morrow County Forestry Invitational hosted by Morrow County Soil and Water and the Morrow County Parks District. Students tested their industry knowledge in four rotations including timber cruising, a compass course, leaf and tool ID, and a knowledge test. All four county schools were present including Northmor, Highland, and Mt. Gilead.

We want to thank the volunteers who helped host and conduct this contest!

Our team finished 2nd in the county with our top 4 individuals compiling our team score. These students were Bristol Whetnall, Jake Adams , Jaxon Ongalibang, and Ky Barlow. Bristol Whetnall was the 5th overall individual in the county!

MEET THE OFFICER:Madison Garrabrant! Madison is our 26-27 Cardington FFA President. This is her second year on the officer team. Madison loves shopping, spending time with her friends, and harvesting. Her favorite SAE is showing livestock in the fair, specifically hogs. Her favorite FFA Activity is our annual Cardington FFA Banquet. Madison’s favorite quote is “Be a pineapple, stand tall, wear a crown, and always be sweet on the inside.” 🍍

On october 9th, we hosted our annual Cardington FFA Alumni Fall BBQ in honor of Homecoming! Families gathered in the cafeteria to mingle with others and enjoy a delicious meal before the Homecoming game. During the school day, our members spent time in the kitchen helping prepare cookies, coleslaw, and applesauce. In the shop, our alumni helped prepare and cook all of the pork loins. We want to give a big thank you to the Morrow County Pork Producers for supplying the pork. We also want to thank the Cardington FFA Alumni for making this event possible.

IT’S FRUIT SALE SEASON!

Many of you have supported this project and sale in the past and we cannot thank you enough for your generosity! We take a lot of pride in providing quality products in partnership with the Florida Farm Bureau, Pearl Valley Cheese, and D.B. Yummers BBQ Sauce. Additionally, we make an effort to match or beat the prices you can get these products in the store, give students hands-on learning opportunities by creating and managing every aspect of this sale, and the FFA benefits! Win-Win-Win!!

About our Vendors:
Florida Farm Bureau is a wonderful partner! All of our citrus and nuts come straight from the producer, so it’s incredibly fresh. It is delivered in December, but grown in Florida, California, and Texas - so it’s much better quality than you can get on the grocery store shelves that time of year.

D.B. Yummers is a BBQ Sauce company that was started by a retired Ohio Ag Teacher! They offer five different flavors from their family-owned business based out of Jeffersonville, Ohio.

Pearl Valley Cheese is also a family-owned business based out of Fresno, Ohio - in the heart of Amish Country! We proudly offer 11 different varieties of their product.

Gifts:
We make three different gift packs in house - our buckets, baskets, and boxes!! These are a great value offering a variety of the products that we offer. Indecisive? Decide on this! We also offer a peanut gift pack, chocolate nut gift pack, and caramel corn tin that would make great gifts for neighbors, mailmen, or anyone else you like to treat around the holidays!

When:
The state-wide start date for the sale of FFA Fruit and Companion Products is TODAY (Thursday, October 10)! We will be selling until November 9. Please contact us in the comments or at [email protected] if you’d like to be connected with an FFA member and we’ll send one your way!! The products will be delivered throughout the week of December 6.

🏈FIGHT FOR A CURE!🎀

Last week, our football and cheer team came together with our members to host the annual Fight For A Cure Week.

This was a school-wide event that included a Survivor’s Lap, 150 paper ribbons for loved ones, and we distributed over 500 pink ribbons at the Friday night football game. We want to give a big thank you to everyone who participated to raise awareness!

Congratulations to our freshmen and senior class for making it to the final round and to our seniors for winning the tournament!🎀

Get ready for a night filled with fright!
This year, Cardington FFA will be partnering with Cardington Marching band and The Friends of Cardington to host the annual haunted trail. It will be on October 31st from 8:00-9:30pm at the Maxwell Park.

If you are a member in Cardington FFA or Marching band and would like to be a scarer, there is a SignUpGenius in our bio!
This year we have changed the rules, and to be a scarer you must be either at set-up
or clean-up. If you are not signed up for one or the other, you will not be allowed to scare.
