1880s - Brooklyn Bridge under construction, from Fulton Landing.
The bridge spelled doom for the Fulton Ferry Terminal, built in 1865. The ferry stopped service to Manhattan in 1924 and the building burned down the next year.
Now the area is very commercialized with a Shake Shack where Pete’s Downtown used to be, originally the Franklin House, now stands. The ballroom upstairs used to double as a site for Quaker services.
