Join us Friday, as we take our picket line to British Petroleum's doorstep! ✊🏼
At 11am Friday, we will meet outside their corporate offices at
30 S. Wacker - three months after executives decided to take paychecks away from hundreds of local families, as part of their illegal lockout at the Whiting refinery.
As they count their record profits, let’s be sure they hear us from their Chicago boardroom to their London headquarters! ✊🏼

Happy 20th birthday to BlueGreen Alliance! In June of 2006, labor leaders and environment organizations came together to advocate for shared solutions and to amplify a powerful, unified voice for a clean, prosperous, and equitable economy. This mission is just as important now as it was then. You can learn more about the BGA here: https://www.bluegreenalliance.org/

Also, stay tuned for a Solidarity Works podcast coming out later this month, where we take a deep dive into the BGA with the alliance’s executive director, Jason Walsh.

Today, we recognize Juneteenth — a day that marks both a historic milestone and an ongoing call to action.

On June 19, 1865, the last enslaved people in the U.S. were finally freed. But the fight for true freedom — including racial and economic justice — did not end there.

As union members, we honor this day by continuing to stand together for fairness, dignity, and opportunity for all workers. The work continues. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽
