If our food pantry sold these t-shirts for $25 per shirt as a fundraiser who would purchase one?

For me its personal we feed the unhoused at many different venues including right out in the streets, as well as many food boxes weekly.

The last Friday of every month we invite all Laporte county to pick up a food box at 9am-11am central time.

This is a monthly offer only the last Friday of the month.

The drive through was amazing today. We did just shy of 150 boxes today. Thank you so so much volunteers, you are amazing people and friends.

A few things, this week's box no 2 boxes will be the same. We have a ton of miscellaneous products. They will be jam packed with products. Lots of fresh fruits and veggies, great proteins and frozen products. I am trying to empty our refrigerators & freezers.

This Thursday will be our last Thursday evening drive up pantry from 6pm-7pm. We tried this evening drive up and only get 5 or 6 people a evening. We will not continue it for so few of people. If you cannot make our Friday pick up message me and we will make other arrangements.

This Thursday we have first come first serve baby & Toddler boxes. This is Thursday pick up only. Everything left over will be donated to Stepping Stones in Michigan City.

We will have normal pantry hours this week. Most holiday weekends we close, but this one we feel with the cost of groceries these days, we are going to do everything we can to keep things consistent for families that depend on us.

I was in Walmart a couple days ago and couldn’t believe the price of ground beef. A 2.25 lb package was $16.50. What in the world. How is a family supposed to afford something as simple as hamburgers anymore?

Our pantry now averages around $4,000 a month to operate. That cost has doubled over the past year. We are also up 40% in box pickups, while food prices continue to rise. We work extremely hard finding as many free items as possible from three different food banks, along with purchasing food from local grocery stores. It takes around 20 hours every week just picking up supplies.

We will be having several fundraisers this summer and fall to help keep the pantry going strong.

We are always looking for more volunteers, especially Friday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

I am also looking for someone who could become a backup for me. Someone dependable who could help pick up supplies and run the pantry drive-up events when needed, simply so I can take a couple weekends off each year.

Our normal hours are:
Volunteer Hours
• Thursday 4:30–6:00 p.m. — Packing boxes
• Thursday 6:00–7:00 p.m. — Food drive-up
• Friday 9:30 a.m.–12:00 noon
• Random weekly summer garden work on your own schedule

Client Pickup Hours
• Thursday 6:00–7:00 p.m.
• Friday 10:00 a.m.–12:00 noon Eastern Time

Attn everyone
In the past month or so we gave away baby formula Goat Milk, if you took any and are not using it please bring it back. We are donating it to a couple rehabbers that have baby raccoons. We do have other formula a few different kinds that we could trade out if needed.

If you’re a student in need of community service hours—or just want to give back—this Thursday we’ll be packing and delivering food bags to the Rolling Prairie Trailer Court.

We’ll meet at the pantry at 4:30 PM (Eastern) to pack the bags, then head over to Rolling Prairie right after.
