No Exchange this Sunday!

With the impending winter weather forecasted this weekend we are canceling all services for Sunday February 1. This includes Sunday evening student ministry as well.

In light of this we will be posting a prerecorded video Sunday morning at 9am. Watch at your leisure as you fill your time with family and fun!

With everything wrapped up for the year, we wanted to let you know about a few changes coming to the Exchange for the new semester when we come back on January 11th.

The first change is that we will no longer be serving meals every week to the students. Shout out to all those who helped over the last couple of months with providing food, but this would help reduce cost, and free up time for small groups every week. We will still have meals together for bigger events, but it won't be something we continue every week. This is also something that is just hard to sustain as the group grows.

The second thing happens because of the first. Because we aren't feeding students, the Exchange will now meet from 6:30 to 8:15 on Sunday nights. This allows students the chance to eat before coming to the group. Doors will open at 6:20.

We look forward to seeing everyone on January 11th!

The Exchange High School Retreat signup is now open in the Church Center app! With only 20 spots available, Students can go ahead and lock in their spots and start paying toward the retreat! The retreat will be on June 21st - June 25th in the western part of the state! The retreat is avaliable to students who are in the 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade for the 25/26 school year!

This will be a time for boys and girls to come together to draw closer to Jesus and build relationships with each other.The retreat is for students in 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades in the 25/26 school year (including seniors who are graduating in 2026).

Hey yall!

Alsbrook here! While I am the youth pastor, I am also the lead counselor at New Bern High School. There I work with Andrew Bridges, who is a member of City Grace Church. We have both noticed, that God is moving in the midst of the lives of high schoolers. At school, we have seen Bible Studies and Clubs pop up everywhere, and in our youth groups we have seen a deep desire to know the Lord from students. What I am saying is that God is doing work in the midst of the lives of our students here in New Bern because they are seeking the Lord!

Because of that, we partnered together to setup MOMENTUM. A night for high schoolers who are seeking the Lord. Please understand this is not a Union Point Church event, or a City Grace Church event. It is for every high school believer! What we would love to see on December 14th is youth groups coming from every type of bible believing church together to worship and be encouraged by the Word.

Food will be provided, games will be played, worship will be sang, and the Word will be exhorted! If you know of any high schoolers, please send them this invitation to come and be a part of MOMENTUM!

Just a reminder to students and parents. The bonfire tonight has postponed and made into the Forged nights in November!

With holidays quickly approaching! I wanted to put out some graphics for upcoming special events that are happening in the Exchange!

October 26th - Halloween Party - Students are encouraged to come dressed up to participate in a costume contest with cash prizes!

November 14-15 - Forge - A 2 night event where high school students will be invited to see their purpose. Student's are encouraged to invite one person, as well as, bring their own lawn chair each night!

November 22nd - 4th Annual Turkey Games - An even for just middle schoolers. It's like the Olympics, if the people who made the Olympics were immature, and ridiculous!

December 14th - Christmas Party - Students are invited to take place in games and good fun! Students are asked to bring a $10.00 gift that is already wrapped for "White Elephant."

Our High School Retreat is always awesome because our students grow close together in such a short period of time. Unfortunately, when we come back the leaders have noticed that students are always so quick to go their separate ways. We want to foster an environment where students can continue the community that they found.

Campfires are a natural gathering place that help build social connections, build a sense of community, and provide a space for storytelling and reflection!

For all of our regular attending high schoolers we will be having campfire on September 26th from 7:30 to 10:00p.m. We just ask that you bring a chair!

This Sunday we are back in action from 6:00 to 8:00! I am excited to be starting a new series called River DNA. A look into what it means to step into the mission that Christ has given us, and how we ultimately become the version of ourselves that we were made to be by doing so! -Alsbrook
