New Bedford Firefighters Local 841 is proud to endorse Senator Mark Montigny for re-
election to the State Senate. Senator Montigny's decades long record is defined by bold, independent leadership and a deep commitment to public safety, healthcare access, and consumer protection. Throughout his tenure, he has been a fierce voice for working families, successfully securing vital state funding for local infrastructure and public health initiatives.
Recently, our city was blindsided by an unexpected $32 million budget deficit, putting Fire Station 9 on the chopping block and threatening 26 firefighter positions. Senator Montigny took immediate action to protect residents and first responders. He successfully championed a Senate budget amendment directing $500,000 in state aid to New Bedford. This critical funding directly delays the proposed closure of Fire Station 9 and protects 26 firefighters from layoffs.
Senator Montigny understands a fundamental truth: you cannot safely balance a budget
on the backs of public safety. We appreciate the Senator's ironclad commitment to our community, our department, and our members. He has always fought for what is right for New Bedford. We urge residents to stand with New Bedford Firefighters Local 841 and vote to reelect Senator Mark Montigny!
Yours in Service,
