Next Saturday April 11, 2026 11-2 we will be at Florosa Baptist Church with a few of our adoptable kitties. Come on out to meet us! There will be fried rice and spring roll plates for donations benefiting us along with PAWS.

I hope some of you find this helpful.. a peek inside elder ferret care , and Please don't turn away , and stay till the end, it was a good day !

One of the saddest thing that ferret owners have to face , if we are lucky ,and they make it to old age , is their geriatric ferret. Their young lives ooze with enthusiasm and they want for nothing but to be free to dance and delight us with their zest for life.
So when we see our once exuberant, dynamic, 4 legged heartbeats begin to slow down , and after but a few years are burdened with the typical maladies ,adrenal disease , insulinoma , and cataracts , we know that even with the treatments available , they are not curable ,and if those don’t take them, usually something else other than old age will.
Most ferrets just don’t age gracefully, something that no one tells you when you get one.
Here is a typical morning with Sammy , who has given us photo rights . Although Sammy is a bit messy , he still has his dignity , and would like to help other ferrants for what may lie ahead ... with love ..

Clear and cold tonight with gusty northwest winds. Lows tonight will be in the mid 20s north of Highway 84 and in the upper 20s to around 30 south of Highway 84 to the coast. The wind will create wind chill values of 15 to 20 degrees north of I-10 and 20 to 25 degrees south of I-10.
