Chabad Center of Natick - Metrowest 🕎 Jewish education, community, and programming — including camp, after-school, synagogue and mikvah — based in Natick! Children are included and most welcome.

Serving and connecting Jewish communities in the area + helping people in need | Regional Chabad HQ for Boston's Metrowest Chabad Center of Natick has become a popular center for Jews of all backgrounds who want to learn more about their Jewish roots. Chabad offers a wide variety of educational and spiritual opportunities, including Torah classes and lectures, and an array of family and social activities. Traditional Jewish values are brought to life in a joyous, non-judgmental atmosphere. Chabad serves all segments of the Jewish community. Everyone is welcome regardless of their personal level of religious observance. The philosophy is in keeping with the Chabad-Lubavitch approach of joy, scholarship and unconditional acceptance and love for every Jew. Chabad is under the spiritual guidance of Rabbi Levi Fogelman, a warm, caring and energetic individual. The rabbi's approach is that Torah must be presented and experienced in a modern, relevant context and made available to each individual on their own level. Rabbi Fogelman and his wife Chanie are emissaries of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, and are both dedicated in their service to the community. The services are traditional, and are conducted in a joyous, casual atmosphere. Many of those who attend cannot read Hebrew, yet everyone feels at home. The prayer book is bi-lingual and various English readings are included in the service. Song and commentary add meaning and participation to the prayers. An important part of our community is the weekly Kiddush that follows the Shabbat morning services, where friendships are created and nurtured, and we celebrate each other's happy occasions and anniversaries. Please allow yourself the opportunity to visit and participate in our vibrant congregation. By becoming a member at the Chabad Center of Natick you will acquire lifelong friendships, an opportunity for spiritual growth, and most importantly a chance to be a part of your Jewish community. Please feel free to visit us for services or any other program, or just stop in to say hello. For more information or to arrange a meeting with the Rabbi, please call our office at 508-650-1499 or email [email protected]. MISSION STATEMENT

The men of Chabad gathered together on Sunday evening for a great night of food, football, drink, ci**rs and brotherhood. The evening started with a few words of Torah delivered by Gavi Waleik. With our souls nourished it was then time to nourish bodies. Staters were highlighted by Buffalo style chicken wings and home made guacamole all enjoyed while watching the Packers/Lions football game . Following our appetizers we moved on to a special Bourbon tasting. We learned about the proper way to taste bourbon completely with the flavor wheel explaining all of the different nuances of different bourbons. We sampled three different bourbons from the Bondstone Distillery. Crowd favorite was the Heritage Reserve Quad Oak. More schmoozing, football and ci**rs were in order as we waited for dinner to be served. Finally the evening was completed with 1 lb rib eye steaks, home made cole slaw and French fries. No one went home hungry. Special thanks to Rabbi Naki for the ci**rs and Yair Mega for all his work on the grill. All left looking forward to the next event. Stay tuned.

It isn’t often that the candy thrown in synagogue makes national news. Yet a recent controversy over the disappearance (and now promised return) of a favorite synagogue treat did just that.

If you’ve attended a Jewish celebration, you may have seen it yourself: A groom or bar mitzvah boy finishes the blessings over the Torah, the congregation breaks into song, and candies come flying.

But what is the reason and origin of the custom? Read more: Chabad.org/7549050
