Who is more fit than the NPPA..... No one that's who! Several members of the NPPA, along with friends, and family, joined together to compete in the Boston Bruins BFIT challenge! The NPPA showed up and showed out! Our members know that protecting and serving requires top-notch fitness. The results of this challenge showed that!!! Along with the outstanding physical performance, the NPPA also raised over $6,000 for the cause, which benefits first responders!

NPPA stands with our partners of the MSP association. No one who takes the life of a law enforcement officer should be free.

Happening this morning, a parole hearing for Jose Colon who murdered Trooper George Hanna on February 26, 1983 by shooting him six times. We agree with Governor Maura Healey, that no parole should be given. This would be an injustice to all the dedicated law enforcement officers in the Commonwealth, George’s family and friends, and our justice system.

We urge the Parole Board to deny the parole of a murderer.

Who is the NPPA?

One of our most recognized members is Officer Perry. Officer Perry is a highly distinguished K-9 officer. Officer Perry has a unique distinction of having two working K-9s, Bob and Yukon. Each dog holds different certifications, making Officer Perry a true Swiss Army knife. Officer Perry serves the Nashua Police Department with pride. Recently, he was captured changing a tire for a stranded motorist, going above and beyond for Nashua.

Another year down, and I can’t say enough about the hard work and sacrifices made by the members of the Nashua Police Department and especially the members of the NPPA. Their list of accomplishments are too numerous to mention here, and many of them were never publicized. Thank you all. I’m psyched to see what 2026 brings!

On this day we honor and remember one of our own, Woburn Police Officer John "Jack" Maguire, End of Watch December 26, 2010. It's hard to believe it has been 15 years since that tragic night. Officer Maguire responded to an armed robbery in progress at the Kohl's store on Washington Street in the middle of a blizzard. Upon Officer Maguire's arrival he encountered an armed suspect trying to flee after robbing the store. Officer Maguire exchanged gunfire with the suspect killing him at the scene. During the exchange, Officer Maguire was struck multiple times and ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Tonight, in honor of Officer Maguire's ultimate sacrifice members of our department will hold our annual cruiser drive by to pay tribute to our fallen brother. At approximately 8:30pm officers will pass by the location on Washington Street where Officer Maguire died in the line of duty. Officer Maguire may be gone but his memory will live on and we will never forget the heroic actions which took his life. Jack, rest easy brother, we will continue the watch!

In Honor of Woburn MA, Police Officer John "Jack" Maguire
