In a single quarter, FGA might host a donor dinner for a dozen people and a lawmaker fly-in for more than 200. One person makes both of them work.

We are hiring an Events Manager to own roughly 20 events a year end to end: policy summits, fly-ins, donor dinners, and all-staff meetings. That means holding a two-year calendar, sourcing venues and locking in hotel contracts well ahead of each event, building agendas and speaker lineups with senior staff, and then being the person on site when the AV fails or the keynote lands late. It also means owning the budget and closing every event with a final cost report that actually balances.

We are looking for five or more years producing live events from start to finish, including hotel contract negotiation. If you have run events with lawmakers or VIPs in the room, that is a real advantage. Cvent, Basecamp, and Ramp experience is valued.

The qualities that matter most here are not on a résumé: staying calm when something breaks, and solving it before anyone in the room notices.

Medicaid made at least $37 billion in improper payments in 2025.

Federal law already requires states to stop paying providers accused of fraud. Most states do not enforce it. California issued just 97 payment suspensions over five years—and granted 339 exceptions to keep the money moving.

Where states do act, it works. Minnesota suspended 3,000 providers and withheld more than $550 million.

New FGA research from Liesel Crocker explains how every state can close the gap and protect both taxpayers and the truly needy.

States should suspend Medicaid payments to providers credibly accused of fraud and refer every credible allegation to Medicaid Fraud Control Units.

🏡 Two families earn $1,300 a month. Only one gets the full food stamp check.

The first family is all American citizens. The state counts every dollar they earn and sends them $219 a month in food stamps.

💰 In the second family, the kids are citizens and the parents are illegal aliens. The state ignores half of that household's income and sends them $414 a month, or $195 more on the same paycheck.

A federal loophole lets states run food stamps this way, and in fiscal year 2024, 893,000 households had citizen children receiving benefits on behalf of illegal alien parents. You cover the gap as a taxpayer.

Indiana closed this loophole by counting all household income, regardless of immigration status. Your state can do the same and stop rigging food stamps against American families!

New Jersey's failure to check its Medicaid providers is part of a much bigger pattern.
Hawaii checked fewer than 1% of its providers last year, and Michigan checked about 10%. Minnesota offers a preview of what states may find once they look: after its fraud scandal, the state revalidated its providers, and 60% of them failed.

FGA Senior Research Fellow Paige Terryberry told Bill Spadea on Speak for America that none of this comes close to what federal law requires. States take in billions in federal Medicaid dollars, and they owe taxpayers an accounting of how they spend that money.

‼️ Three in four non-citizen households in Kentucky are on welfare, and immigration officers never see it.

Since 1882, federal law has kept out immigrants who are likely to rely on welfare. But officials rarely use it. It accounts for only 1 in 10,000 deportations.

Officials can't enforce a law when no one tells them who is enrolled, and states hold those records. Taxpayers fund Medicaid, food stamps, and the rest of the safety net, and they deserve to know who those programs serve.

To ensure that welfare programs are only available to intended recipients, states should report non-citizens receiving welfare to federal authorities.

Medicaid recipients depend on legitimate providers for their care. A fraudster posing as a provider takes resources from the truly needy and sends the bill to you, the taxpayer.

On Speak for America, FGA Senior Research Fellow Paige Terryberry told Bill Spadea that states can stop this with simple checks, and some of those checks already exist on paper. States need to put them back to work.
