On June 15th, 2026, District 8 Fire Rescue responded for mutual aid to assist Westside Fire Rescue, Coffee City Fire Rescue, and Berryville Fire Rescue on a working structure fire. Crews from all departments arrived quickly and operated side‑by‑side, working tirelessly to bring the fire under control and fully extinguish the incident.

Multi‑agency responses like this highlight the importance of clear communication, coordinated strategy, and strong teamwork. Thank you to every firefighter who responded and put in the work to protect our communities. Your dedication makes a real difference!

Earlier today, District 8 Fire Rescue responded to assist Frankston Fire Department with a structure fire involving a gas station in Frankston, Texas, located in Anderson County.

Upon arrival, crews were met with heavy fire conditions and rapidly evolving hazards due to the presence of fuel and other flammable materials commonly found at gas station facilities. Firefighters worked aggressively to contain the blaze, protect nearby structures, and prevent further escalation that could have posed a significant threat to the surrounding community.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of all responding agencies, crews were able to bring the situation under control and minimize further damage. Incidents involving commercial structures—especially those with fuel sources—require quick action, strong communication, and a high level of situational awareness, all of which were demonstrated on scene today.

We would like to thank Frankston Fire Department and all assisting agencies for their teamwork and dedication. As always, we remain committed to serving our community and supporting our neighboring departments whenever needed.

🚨 TRAINING NIGHT 🚨

Our firefighters trained on moving through tight spaces and navigating blindly through different rooms while wearing full gear and air packs. Drills like this help prepare our crews for difficult situations they may face on real emergency calls.

Training helps build teamwork, confidence, and keeps everyone ready to respond when our community needs us most.

We’re proud of the hard work and dedication our members continue to show every week. 🔥🚒

🔥 Training Day at District 8 🔥

Today, one of our newest members stepped up and took on SCBA air consumption drills alongside the crew. These drills are designed to build confidence, endurance, and familiarity with operating in full gear under stressful conditions — because preparation matters before the real call comes in.

Every firefighter starts somewhere, and we’re proud to see the dedication, hard work, and determination our new members continue to show each day. 💪🚒

🚨 Attention! 🚨

In a bold move to modernize our gear, we are officially retiring the traditional fire helmet. Starting today, we’re switching to Stormtrooper helmets as our new departmental standard.

⚪️⚫️Why the change?

1️⃣ Full Face Protection: Great for smoke, not so great for seeing where you’re going.

2️⃣ Uniformity: We finally look as cool as we think we do.

3️⃣ Safety First: Statistically, Stormtroopers never hit anything—so we figure our crews are now 100% safe from ever hitting a wall or a hydrant again.

🎯🚫Admittedly, visibility during interior structural attacks has dropped to near zero, and we’ve already had three people trip over the pump panel this morning... but look at that aesthetic!

May the 4th Be With You! (And please, if you see us wandering aimlessly in the yard, just point us toward the fire.) 🔥🛰️
