CLOSEUP on CAST!

Mike Lieberman will be portraying utterly normal Norman in “Arabian Nights,” one of the short comedies in “All in the Timing.” Mike and his wife Anna came to The Kirk Players in 2005 with a love of the theater as theater-goers and without any theater experience. Mike’s first part with The Kirk Players was as a G-man in “You Can’t Take It With You” (in which he had one line and Anna was the props crew). In 2006, Mike and Anna became Kirk Players. Since then, Mike has appeared or been backstage in over 40 Kirk Player productions. Most recently, he has appeared on stage as Juror 2 in “12 Angry Jurors,” as Sir Lawrence Wargrave in “And Then There Were None,” and as Lt. Rooney in “Arsenic and Old Lace.” In June of 2025, he was backstage as Technical Director for “The Wisdom of Eve.” Mike is grateful to The Kirk Players for accepting a novice with no experience, but mostly for the wonderful friendships with his fellow Kirk Players.

CLOSEUP on CAST!

James Torbeck will be departing from his usual work behind the scenes to act in the role of Ramon in “Variations on the Death of Trotsky,” one of the clever comedies in “All in the Timing.” James is a native to Mundelein. He got his start in theater at Mundelein High School under the direction of Jon Leslie Lynn, being the third of three brothers to do so. James began with The Kirk Players by working sound on “Christmas Belle's.” He made his first Kirk stage appearance in “The Happiest Millionaire” as Joe, a delivery driver who was accepted into this eccentric family and never left.

CLOSEUP on CAST!

There will be a lot of LOL when Marilee C.C. Rusiniak appears in “Words, Words, Words" as Kafka, a monkey who is struggling to produce “Hamlet”! She has been seen on stage most recently in “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Wisdom of Eve.” Other performances include “Murdered to Death,” “The Diary of Anne Frank,” “Red Herring,” “It's a Wonderful Life: A Radio Play,” and many others. Marilee has recently appeared in KP collaborative events such as “Miracle on 34th Street,” “The Cemetery Walk,” and “Summer Shakespeare Shorts.” She is currently our Vice-President and Membership Director. Backstage credits include Sound Design, Stage Manager, and Makeup Design. Marilee holds a BA in Communications with an emphasis in Professional Writing from Southern New Hampshire University. CLOSEUP on the PRODUCTION TEAM!

Gretchen Grassl is having lots of fun as the Assistant Director for seven short comedies in “All in the Timing.” Gretchen has been involved in the performing arts since she was five years old, beginning with musical theater, finding a love for dramas, then teaching youth and directing all ages. Since joining The Kirk Players in 2009, she has been involved in many productions. One of Gretchen’s most hilarious roles was as Martha Brewster in “Arsenic and Old Lace” in 2024. “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” marked her KP directorial debut in 2018. To Gretchen, there is nothing as exciting as live theater, where she loves seeing the magic happen!

Mayfly Meet Cute?

Join us for All in the Timing by David Ives, June 20-21 and 26-28, on the stage at West Oak Middle School. Get tickets today at kirkplayers.org (seating is limited).

Not all plays tell one story. This one tells seven. All in the Timing is a rapid-fire series of short plays where each scene drops you into a completely new world. . .just as you're getting comfortable.

It's quick. It's clever. It never sits long enough to get predictable. If you've ever said the wrong thing, missed the right moment, or wondered how everything got so complicated. . . This show gets it.

Because sometimes, timing really is everything.

**Please note that some of the humor may be considered PG13**

CLOSEUP on The Production Team!

Jon Leslie Lynn is honored to be sitting in the director’s chair again for “All in the Timing.” Jon is the eldest son of our founder and has been active with The Kirk Players from the very beginning. He has a BFA from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Master’s degree from Illinois State University, both in Theatre Performance. His enthusiasm and hard work caused his fellow Players to name the group’s annual performance awards after him, the Leslie Awards. Jon retired in 2012, after thirty-five years as a high school Theatre Teacher/Director. He has spent many years on the KP Board as Tech Director, Membership Director, and Artistic Director. Jon has won Best Actor “Leslies” for his performances in “Harvey,” “Rumors,” and “I Hate Hamlet.” He has directed over twenty-five KP shows. CLOSEUP on CAST!

Shara Wright is looking forward to monkeying around on stage as Swift in “Words, Words. Words,” one of the famous one-act comedies in “All in the Timing.” Shara loves to play unexpected characters and is inspired to stretch her limits in acting every time she takes the stage. Her most recent performance with the Kirk Players was as Juror #10 in “12 Angry Jurors” last November. By day, Shara keeps things organized as a Client Manager II at Alight Solutions. When she's not working or cheering her four kids on in their various activities, she might be getting lost in a good book, creating something fun with yarn or singing with the worship band at Fierce Church in Grayslake.

Come see Shara and the rest of this fantastic cast in All in the Timing by David Ives, June 20-21 and 26-28, on the Stage at West Oak Middle School. Get tickets today at kirkplayers.org
