Congratulations to Katie Francev, one of our scholarship winners this year!

As her AP teacher, Ms. Seward stated, "She does not utilize her health disabilities as a crutch, but rather uses the strength and maturity that she developed in order to bolster her abilities."

We certainly saw this not only with her as an AP Student, NHS Member, and President's Honor Roll member, but she had dual enrollment so just graduated with her high school diploma and some college credits too!

She is also quite involved being on the Varsity Cheer team, on the Superintendent's Student Council, and being involved in the community with organizations such as the
Inland Valley Humane Society to name a few.

We look forward to seeing her grow in college as she continues her educational journey.

Congrats again Katie!

So why do people call grand mal seizures -clonic these days? come from the Greek word "tonikos" meaning "of stretching" and clonic has a Greek origin from "klonos" meaning "turmoil, any violent motion". These words better describe what happens during that type of seizure than the old term grand mal did. In fact, tonic-clonic has been the preferred term to use in medicine for decades!
