Out Montclair Out Montclair is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created to provide support for the LGBTQIA+ community. OM produces the annual Montclair Pride festival.

Based in Montclair, NJ, we operate through a 100% volunteer board with zero salaried staff. We are dedicated to fostering community and providing support and solidarity for the LGBTQIA+ population of Montclair, NJ. All of our programs and events are open to the public. Through the Rain, Our PRIDE Shone Brighter Than Ever! ❤️
WE DID IT, MONTCLAIR! TOGETHER!

On October 11, National Coming Out Day, we celebrated our fifth Montclair Pride®! Despite the rain and smaller crowds, our spirit was stronger than ever. What we lacked in numbers, we made up for in love, resilience, and community!

Equality in Motion March with Garden State Equality brought us from the Montclair Public Library to Lackawanna Station. The drummers, joyful marchers, and Brandi Massey’s magnificent performance of “I’m Coming Out” made it unforgettable.

To everyone who marched, danced, performed, volunteered, or stood with us in the rain: THANK YOU!

Special thanks to Pride Directors Lauren Pennington and Jen Sickles, our Pride Team, Board, Marketing and Social media team, and tireless volunteers. We are equally grateful to Montclair Police, EMS, Sanitation, our entertainers, vendors, sponsors, service providers, and community partners.

Thank you to our Mayor, Township Council, and county and state officials. We were honored by a plaque from the Essex County Commissioners and County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr., and a $50,000 state grant presented through Assemblywoman Alixon Collazos-Gill for community programming.

Perhaps the rain carried a message. The day before Pride was beautiful. The day after, the skies cleared. Yet on our day, the rain came. Perhaps it reminded us of the struggles, sacrifices, and lives lost throughout LGBTQ+ history. Our community has weathered far greater storms.

Pride isn’t about perfect weather. It’s about courage, visibility, belonging, and love. On Sunday, we didn’t just celebrate Pride. We lived its meaning.

Our celebration continues throughout LGBTQ+ History Month as we honor those who paved the way. Thanks to our generous supporters, Out Montclair moves forward stronger, with hope for the future.

The rain may have hidden a few tears of joy, but it could never wash away our PRIDE!

Hello Friends. TODAY, Saturday 10/10, from 12-3pm, you can create and add your own entry for the Montclair Community Time Capsule, from The Traveling Diary, at Keep Creating Art Wellness Center. You can decorate an archival envelope, write a letter to the future, or contribute a small memento that reflects your story and your connection to Montclair.
No artistic experience is needed, and all materials are provided.

Whether Montclair has been your home for years or has become part of your story more recently, we’d love for your voice to be included in this shared gift to the future. Together, we’re creating something that will be sealed in 2026 and opened by future generations in 2076.
