The Mark Cares Inc. is excited to host baritone singer Dr. Robert L. Cooper and pianist Dr. Richard Alston for its June concert "Classically Black: A Concert of Traditional Spirituals." We invite you to come join us on Sunday, June 4, at 4:00 pm, for a celebration of Black art and community.

This concert supports The Mark Cares' partnership with Montclair Emergency Services for the Homeless (MESH), and future charitable programs for children and families.

“Price of Liberty” Film Series in Montclair to Discuss Race, Segregation, Integration and Civil Rights

The Mark Cares, Inc. is hosting its first charitable event on Sunday, October 16th at 4:00 pm. The concert features pianist Richard Alston who will play works by Margaret Bonds, "Blind Tom" Bethune, Scott Joplin, William Grant Still, Oscar Peterson, Florence B. Price and other Black composers including Montclair's own, George Walker. Mr. Alston has garnered praise for his passion and technical mastery of the keyboard, his charismatic personality, and charming, stage presence, and his progress from prodigy to mature artist.
