Prep Backpacking Hike in Catoctin Mt Park this weekend. Getting ready for our Colorado backpacking trip this summer. Time to test the gear, the feet, our backs and our stamina. Great day of hiking, visited 5 overviews and Cunningham Falls. Two months left before our big adventure.

Free Trees Remaining this morning to good homes.
We still have 7 nice trees remaining this morning that need good homes. We are currently taking down our tree lot, but we are still there to help. Please step by. Any remaining trees when we finish we be left by the curb and are open for the taking. Thank you all and Merry Christmas.

Free Christmas Trees to Good Homes

Yesterday a Christmas Blessing occurred. An anonymous benefactor stopped by our Scout Christmas Tree lot and purchased ALL our remaining trees … but with a catch. The family didn’t want the trees for themselves, but instead for the Christmas Trees to go to the good homes of those in need of a tree who didn’t have the money for them. We have been very moved by these actions and want to fulfill this Christmas Wish.

We currently have 14 remaining trees on our Tree Lot, and are very nice. They are first come, first served at no cost, as a Christmas Blessing from the benefactor. We will be on the Tree Lot in New Market on Route 144 next to McDonalds on Friday from 4pm - 8pm and Saturday from 9am - 11 am. We can help you wrap them, and tie them down if you wish.

A huge thank you to the benefactor for making this possible and spreading some extra joy this Christmas.

Our Scout Christmas Tree Sales are now finished for the year. As of Wednesday night we have finished our sales. Troop 268 and 1268 would like to thank the community for their support of the our Scouts and helping spread holiday cheer.

I hope you will follow our Troops on Facebook and Instagram so you can see the positive role that our scouts play in the community, and the fine young leaders these men and women will become. Thank you for your support and hope to see you again next year.

Thanks to the crew from Troops 268 and 1268 who joined the 1000 volunteers yesterday placing 23,000 candle luminaries at Antietam National Battlefield. A 20 year tradition for our scouts.
