The South Florida Chapter was founded in 1987 by 5 MBA employees of Ryder System and Burger King Corporation and chartered on December 18, 1987 by 18 members. One of the Charter members continues to serve on the Executive Board today. The chapter has had only 6 Presidents in its entire history, a number of who remain involved in the chapter. The South Florida Chapter is known for the success of aw
arding Scholarships to many deserving students. Since 1989, the chapter has awarded over $90,000 in scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Business Administration. Scholarships have been awarded to South Florida applicants from both the National chapter and the community. Additionally, our signature Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) Program has placed our Chapter on the map. We have one of the most successful LOT programs amongst the 40 chapters. In 2007, three of our Leaders won the NBMBAA LOT Case Competition, sponsored by Exxon Mobil at the Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia, PA. We have approximately 20 students actively involved in the program, with up to 50% attending the National Conference each year. Review our Programs link to learn more information about the Leaders of Tomorrow program. Our strategies include but are not limited to:
