One Yard Away

When life gets heavy, we show up—providing no-cost, temporary lawn and landscape care so neighbors facing a crisis can focus on what matters most.

This group photo is the heart behind the hands-on help: volunteers coming together to lift an outdoor burden across the greater Charlotte area.

Want to be part of the crew? Volunteer with One Yard Away (bring a friend or a group). Link in bio.

7,150 volunteer hours—and counting.

Because when life gets heavy (illness, injury, hospitalization, loss, or deployment), the yard shouldn’t be one more burden. One Yard Away provides no-cost, temporary yard care so neighbors in crisis can focus on what matters most.

One mow can be one less thing on a family’s plate.

A $50 gift helps cover the cost of one mow, giving One Yard Away a simple, concrete way to provide no-cost, temporary yard care for neighbors facing a hard season (illness, injury, hospitalization, loss, or deployment).

If you’re able, donate $50 (or set up a monthly gift) at oneyardaway.org. Every mow helps give a family a little more room to breathe.

We are so grateful that we could help a local veteran clean up his yard. Although he doesn’t have much, what he does have he gives back to the homeless. It was an honor to serve someone with such a big heart!

Honored to be recognized by the Waxhaw Woman's Club! One Yard Away was their nonprofit scholarship recipient for this year. The generous women who serve our community are remarkable leaders and we are so grateful for their support! Beautiful event!

This year the group decided to focus on a single nonprofit to make an even greater impact. Please refer a neighbor in need to us - we would LOVE to help and this scholarship granted us the ability to help and even greater number of families!
