Recently posted on a local page is this really interesting gravesite in the Steele Creek area. The dates associated with Brother Cathey's life actually even pre-date the official founding of our Grand Lodge here in NC. Actually, with St. John's Lodge in Wilmington being the first Lodge chartered in 1754, this gentleman could've been one of the earliest Masons in our great state.

Just another example of the vast amount of history associated with our Organization.

Pardon the late post, but a lot has been going on around here lately. On 1/10, we raised 5, yes, five new Master Masons in a 3rd Degree that was a resounding success, and was attended by several Brothers from surrounding districts. We are excited for our new Brothers and look forward to continuing to grow with them as members of our Fraternity.

Join us as we raise 5... yes, five Brothers to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on January 10th, 2026. This will be a momentous occasion, and your Officers at Mint Hill 742 have been working diligently to provide a spectacular Degree. As a Master Mason, you will know just how important this Degree is, and how much work goes into it, so stay tuned for an official event invite with all details, and come see us.

It's hard to believe the year is almost over. Lots of things happening this time of year. Here is a pic from our Stated Communication on 12/4. We will be having our officer installation on 12/11. We open the Lodge at 6:30, and will welcome public visitors at 7, with a celebration to follow. See you there.

Alright, last night, 11/6, was our November Stated, and voting was held for next year's officers. Brother John Cole McBryde was officially elected as 2026 Worshipful Master. We also had three Fellowcraft that stood proficient and are now ready for an upcoming 3rd Degree. That makes five total that will be raised very soon. Thank you to all that came out, and we hope to see you soon.

Morning. Anyone looking to attend a fantastic Degree here locally should head on over to Phalanx on the 30th. On the same topic, we (742) are hard at work practicing for some upcomjng 3rd Degrees for 5 candidates as well. Lots going on around the district for the end of the year. Cheers.

6:30pm - Fellowship and Dinner
7:30pm - Lodge opens

Better late than never I always say... Here are some pics from our recent awards night/Stated from Thursday, 10/2. Brother Randy Rappe was presented a 25 year award, several others were presented 50 year awards, and Brother Brandon Godwin was presented the Mason of the Year Award for his continuing contributions to the Lodge. Special thanks to W.B. Dave Siever for coming out and filming/taking photos. Hope to see everyone at the next meeting.
