The Santa Rosa Career and Technical Education programs prepares students for college, careers and their futures! In addition, the Santa Rosa Center for Innovation will create a modern, flexible facility that supports hands-on learning, career exploration, and workforce readiness for students across Santa Rosa County. Greg Brown, SRC Property Appraiser, spoke to our club last week about his office and how they operate for the citizens of Santa Rosa County. Greg told us that there are 123,000 properties in SRC that are assessed each year. His office is overseen by the FL Department of Revenue and not the county. The Department of Revenue does audit their office to make sure that the values being assessed are accurate. The value is based on the prior year's sales in your homes area. There is currently $32 billion in property value in SRC and that generates approximately $250 million in revenue. Greg also mentioned that there are many useful tools on the property appraiser's website including a new tool that shows the potential impact of the proposed amendment on your homesteaded property.

Mark Faulkner, CEO of Baptist Health Care, recently spoke to our club about the history of Baptist Health Care and their impact on our community. Baptist is locally led and governed and their mission is to help people through life's journey. They are led by Christian values and are a non-profit health care system. Baptist employs 4700 people with 290 being medical providers and will be adding more medical providers. Baptist has several locations in Santa Rosa County with the clinic on Avalon Blvd being their latest location. Mark also spoke about their community impact through sports medicine outreach, community health/faith health network and many other sponsorships and volunteers. Their community impact in 2025 was approximately $60 million. We appreciate Mark coming and sharing this great information with our club.
