Purrfect Match Cat Rescue (aka Purrfect Match Cat Adoptions) is a 501C3 non-profit rescue group in the Memphis, TN area. We rescue cats and kittens from shelters as well as homeless community cats and provide them veterinary care, housing and socialization until they are ready for adoption. We do some local adoptions ourselves, but many of our cats and kittens go to rescue partners that we trust (

in Nashville, Maine, NH and RI) to find their forever homes, since the cat over population problem is better managed in those areas and there are more resources available for kitties in need. We operate solely based on donations and your generosity helps us save precious feline lives!! Purrfect Match Cat Adoptions was founded by a cat lover from the Memphis area who found joy and happiness in every “Purrfect Match” she created while volunteering for other rescues. Cats were, are, and always will be a huge part of our lives. These animals need a chance to show how much value they can add to a person’s life. Their absolute loyalty and love truly impacts our lives everyday. Purrfect Match Cat Adoptions believes that once a person finds that “Purrfect Match” with that purrfect cat, the chemistry created makes both the person and the animal more complete. There is nothing more fulfilling than when you see another cat ready and eager to start a new chapter of its life with a loving and caring person! Meet Zev. This tiny girl’s life started out in a very dark place, but thanks to some local heroes, her future is looking incredibly bright!

Zev was seized by Memphis police officers from an unfortunate situation where she was living in a vehicle with someone high on drugs. She was tiny, vulnerable, and needed a safe haven immediately. Of course, Purrfect Match stepped up to catch her.
Once she got settled in with her wonderful foster parents, Janet and Catlin, we noticed she wasn’t just painfully thin—she was also heavily favoring her back left leg. A trip to our vet and some X-rays revealed the heartbreaking truth: poor Zev had a fractured femur. 💔

But Zev is a fighter! Thankfully, our vet determined she didn't need surgery. With strict cage rest and a whole lot of love from her foster parents, she has been healing beautifully. Today, she is a normal, happy, healthy, playful kitten!

✨ The Next Chapter: Zev has an amazing opportunity to catch a transport up to New Hampshire soon to find the forever home she truly deserves. But before she can head out, we need to get her medical expenses paid.

We would be so incredibly grateful for any donation—big or small—to help cover Zev’s vet bills and transport prep. Every single dollar helps us say "yes" to babies just like her.

🌲🏠 Sora & Riku’s Happy Ending! 🐾🧡

This fabulous brother and sister duo came to Purrfect Match after surviving a devastating house fire that left them homeless. They had lost everything, but they still had each other and these two were peas in a pod, their bond was unmistakable. Thanks to your overwhelming generosity, we were able to cover their medical care and then coordinate their big trip up north to our wonderful adoption partners, HART of Maine.

Today, we are thrilled to share that Sora and Riku have officially found their forever home in Maine! 🌲✨

They were adopted together by a wonderful single gentleman who has a fantastic schedule—he only works three days a week! That means for four whole days every week, his entire world revolves around spoiling, petting, and loving on Sora and Riku.

We can just picture their new life in Maine. We imagine them watching the birds outside a cozy window, exploring a quiet, peaceful home where they never have to worry about being unsafe again, and spending long, lazy afternoons curled up on their dad's lap while he reads or watches a movie. After everything they went through, they have the quiet, stable sanctuary they always deserved and someone to adore them forever. 🥹

Their story:

This brother/sister pair lost their home due to a housefire, but thankfully the awesome firefighters got all of the pets out safely. Their person won't be resettled for a while and asked Purrfect Match to help Riku & Sora find a new home. We are glad to help, they are amazing kitties! HART of Maine is going to help them find a new home and we've asked for them to stay together. They can leave in a few weeks but first we need to some necessary vetting done, health certificates issued and transport expense covered and we'd be extremely grateful for any donations to help!

🐾🖤 Shadow Moon is ADOPTED!!!! 🖤🐾

Several weeks ago, sleek and sweet Shadow Moon made the long journey from Tennessee up to our incredible adoption partners at HART of Maine.

Yesterday, our hearts completely melted when we received this text from his wonderful new family:

"My name is Emy and my boyfriend and I just recently adopted Shadow Moon!! Renamed to Kevin, he is an absolutely lovely boy and he has been so curious in our home, we ADORE him! We thank you for rescuing our sweet boy!! He is so loved already!"

Look at Shadow Moon thriving! 😭✨ Black cats often wait the longest in shelters, so seeing him settled, happy, and deeply loved in his forever home is the absolute best reward for everyone involved.

Moments like this breathe new life into our mission! We are incredibly grateful to our special friends who stepped up to fully cover Kevin’s medical and transport expenses, ensuring he was ready for his big journey. And, of course, a massive thank you to the amazing team at HART of Maine for taking him in and finding him the perfect match!

We love our black cats at Purrfect Match, and Shadow Moon is an absolute gem! This sweet guy was found wandering Midtown Memphis, knocking on doors and hoping a kind soul would let him inside. Thankfully, a sweet woman reached out to us, and we were happy to welcome him at MeowHouse.
As many of you know, black cats often wait the longest for local homes, and transport spots can be just as hard to come by. That’s why it was cause for major celebration with Shadow Moon was offered a coveted adoption spot with HART of Maine in a few weeks!
To get him ready to go, we need our amazing supporters to help cover some vetting required, health clearances, and transport fees. Every dollar brings this amazing cat one step closer to his forever home in New England!

From a homeless kitten in the South to an absolutely adored family member in New Hampshire… Lani is HOME! 🐾🚛

These are the moments that make every late night and stressful moment worth it. Seeing a vulnerable kitten blossom into a beloved family pet is the ultimate reward, and Lani’s new chapter is a beautiful reminder of why this work matters. 🥹❤️

Her new mom sent this beautiful update just days after welcoming her home:

"Yesterday went so much better than we expected or thought possible. She did not like the tiny acclimation room and cried and clawed at the door. I opened the door to check on her and she flew out and started wandering around. In no time she was jumping up on the couch and snuggling with us. She was letting all the kids love her and play with her. She made her way upstairs and cuddled up in my bed most of the night. In the morning she helped me wake up the kids which they were so excited about. She’s is the absolute sweetest and best. The PURRfect addition to our family! "

Our hearts are so full! 😭 This is the powerful impact of rescue work in action. 💪✨

Lani was a homeless kitten in Covington, TN who got herself into quite the predicament! After getting stuck in a fence, a nice woman noticed and freed her just in time. Being unable to keep another pet herself, she posted on social media seeking help for the kitten and Purrfect Match came to the rescue! It's been super fun having Lani at MeowHouse, she is the total kitten package: a tiny whirlwind of fun who is absolutely full of herself (and rightfully so)! She now has a wonderful adoption opportunity in New England, but we need to get her fully vetted before she can head out. All donations to help Lani get ready for a happy life are so appreciated!

🐾 WONDERFUL NEWS & A SPECIAL UPDATE on FRED! 🐾

Most of our Purrfect Match family probably knows Fred. He’s the sweet boy we rescued last fall who sadly tested positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV). 😿

Fred is truly the "bestest" cat—a gentle, loving soul through and through. If Fred were human, he’d be a likable old professor wearing a tweed smoking jacket, always greeting company with a warm, friendly smile. 🎓💼

Because FeLV is contagious to other cats, finding Fred a traditional home was a tall order, even though we knew his time on earth might be dwindling down. We wanted nothing more than for him to experience true home life and all the human love he can handle for the rest of his days.

Enter Carol, a wonderful friend of PM with a peaceful home. When we asked if she’d be willing to open her heart to be a hospice foster for Fred, she didn't hesitate. ❤️

On Monday, the Professor officially moved in! 📦🏡

I stopped by to visit them today, and you guys... Fred is so incredibly content. He has his very own sunny windows, his own person, and I even saw a spunky side to him that he’s never shown us before! ☀️🐾

We are sending Carol and Fred so much love and wishing Fred all the happiness in the world for the rest of his journey. Thank you, Carol, for giving this perfect gentleman his fairytale ending!

🎵 DOUBLE THE ROCKSTARS, DOUBLE THE LOVE! 🎸🖤

We are so excited to share Wiggle’s adoption story—it is a seriously fun one!

Several months ago, a wonderful couple in New Hampshire adopted PM alum Mercury through our amazing partners at Mitchell Animal Hospital. They fell head-over-heels in love with him.

Fast forward to recently, when they saw Mitchell's post about Wiggle who looked like Mercury’s literal identical twin. Clearly, it was fate. They couldn't resist, and now they are the proud parents of BOTH boys!

Honestly, we aren't quite sure how they tell them apart, but we DO know that these two are being absolutely doted on and loved to pieces! 😂😻 (Just look at those pics—they hit the adoption jackpot!)

We couldn't be happier for this sweet family. Our hearts are also incredibly full and thankful to every single person who donated to help cover Wiggle's rescue expenses and medical care to get him ready for his big arena debut. It takes a village, and you all made this beautiful happily-ever-after possible!

This dapper guy is another animal saved thanks to Heather Mauldin's advocacy of the homeless animals she feeds nightly in Whitehaven. He's now a Purrfect Match cat, and a big favorite at MeowHouse! He is young and friendly, so he already has an opportunity to transport to New England for adoption, but first we need to get him all fixed up, health-certified and ready to go. We would be deeply grateful for donations to help Wiggle get ready for a happy life as a loved pet!

🎉 CHIP IS OFFICIALLY HOME IN MAINE! 🎉

They say that the road to happy ever after sometimes comes with a little detour, and adorable little tabby Chip definitely took the scenic route—but he is finally, officially HOME for good with a wonderful family in Maine who already love him completely to pieces! 🌲✨

Before Chip could start his new life, he had to beat a case of ringworm. This meant facing a strict 6-week quarantine and treatment process. For many cats, that kind of disruption can be stressful—but not our Chip! True to his joyful, resilient nature, this sweet little guy wasn’t fazed at all. He took every treatment in stride, kept his chin up, and focused on his ultimate goal: getting to his forever couch. 🛋️🐱

Now, all of that is safely behind him, and he is spending his days being absolutely pampered, spoiled, and adored by his new family.

Chip’s journey from rescue in TN to a loving home in Maine wouldn't have been possible without:
