Over the last several days, we know there have been strong emotions and many conversations surrounding our championship games and league decisions. At the center of all of this are young athletes who love this game, and that is where our focus remains.
MGSA is committed to providing a fair, safe, and positive experience for every player and family in our league. While not every decision will be popular, league rules are in place to ensure consistency and fairness for all teams throughout the season and postseason. The decisions made regarding the 12U championship were based on those established rules.
We also understand there are concerns surrounding events that occurred during the 6U championship game. The league has obtained additional information and will be reviewing the situation thoroughly before determining any next steps. Because children are involved, we will not be discussing specific individuals or disciplinary matters publicly.
We ask our community to remember that coaches, umpires, board members, and volunteers are people who dedicate significant time and energy to this league because they care deeply about these girls and the sport of softball. Public attacks, rumors, and hostility on social media only create more division and take the focus away from the players.
We welcome respectful and constructive feedback and encourage anyone with concerns to contact the league directly so conversations can happen productively and respectfully.
Thank you to every player, family, coach, umpire, and volunteer who helped make this season possible.
