Our middle school students took a special walk to our parish cemetery with Fr. Sahd in honor of All Souls Day.

Together, they took time to remember, honor, and pray for those who have gone before us. It was a beautiful opportunity to connect our faith, our parish community, and the generations who came before us. 🩵

We conclude our Allhallowtide celebration with All Souls Day! Our staff beautifully transformed the library to share the rich tradition of Día de los Mu***os with our students. Together, we reflected on and celebrated the lives of our school family’s departed loved ones through a lovely ofrenda, honoring their memories with color, care, and love.

A special thank-you to Valentina, SSBVM Class of ’23, and her mom for helping our school librarian create this beautiful ofrenda and bring this meaningful tradition to life for our students. We love seeing our alumni continue to be part of the SSBVM family!

May we always remember those who have gone before us and keep their memories close to our hearts.

Our Allhallowtide celebration continues with All Saints Day!

Our school was filled with saints, big and small, as students arrived dressed as their favorite saints! We began the day with a joyful saint costume parade, celebrating the holy men and women who inspire us to live with faith, courage, and love.

The celebration continued with saint-themed educational activities led by our middle school students, who truly shined as they put saintly behavior into action! From bringing the saints’ stories to life at our Saint Museum to playing Saint Bingo and participating in carnival-style saint-themed games, our older students helped their younger school family members learn about the saints in fun and memorable ways.

Students also had the opportunity to visit our beautiful Día de los Mu***os ofrenda in the library, honoring and remembering the loved ones who have gone before us.

What a wonderful day of faith, fellowship, and learning! We are grateful for the many ways our students help bring our Catholic faith to life at SSBVM.

Stay tuned as we conclude our Allhallowtide celebration tomorrow with our All Souls Day remembrance.

It's All Hallows’ Eve! Over the next three days, we’ll be sharing highlights from SSBVM's Allhallowtide celebrations!

We kicked things off with plenty of fun at last week’s Trunk or Treat — what a joy to come together as a school family.

Stay tuned for photos and moments of inspiration as we honor this special season together.

Another great day of learning at Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary School!

Yesterday PA State Rep. Tom Mehaffie visited our school. Our school resides in the 106th District, which he represents in the PA House.

Our students had the opportunity to:

-Explore Government: Our 4th graders learned how a state representative is elected and what it means to represent the people.
-Discover a Day in the Life: Our 6th grade social studies students gained insight into what a typical day looks like for a state representative.
-Put STEM Into Action: Our 7th grade advanced STEM students shared their water filtration project and demonstrated how they are applying problem-solving and scientific thinking to real-world challenges. There was great dialogue on the project as Rep. Mehaffie sits on the House Environmental Protection Committee.

We love creating opportunities for our students to ask questions, share their ideas, and connect classroom learning to the world around them!
