Lexington ARC is looking for a needle in a haystack, and apparently, one teammate decided to cross the street and take a rest!

And that rest is for a good reason! They have a big event coming up: COOKING WITH LOVE

What to Expect

• Volunteer Chefs: Local community members, friends, and neighbors preparing homemade dishes, entrees, and desserts.
• Parade of Chefs: A formal introduction and showcase of all participating cooks.
• Competitions & Awards: Interactive voting including a People's Choice competition and chef awards.
• Activities: A cash bar, a w**e pull, and an art show and auction.
• Mission: All proceeds and tips go directly toward funding creative expression, recreation, adaptive equipment, and programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities supported by The Arc Lexington in Schoharie County.

We have a positive announcement this morning. A very long letter of apology was dropped in the Village mailbox, along with substantial donations to cover repairs to both damaged scarecrows.

Let’s praise the parents of the youthful offender for doing the right thing and put this matter to rest.

Please message this page if you notice any damaged scarecrows. Sadly, after 9 incident-free years, some disrespectful individuals have decided to vandalize them this year. Middleburgh Rotary’s (event sponsor) Mother Goose has been removed as her head was smashed beyond repair.

MFD Ladies Auxiliary’s firefighter’s head was smashed but was repaired.

It’s a sad state of affairs when people volunteer their time and hard earned money to purchase supplies to create these wonderful scarecrows that bring so much joy, only to have them be destroyed by individuals who are heading in the wrong direction!

Little James Leonard Best and Mrs Ursula Best stand at the end of the driveway at the Dr Best Museum as if waving goodbye to Dr. Christopher Best when he was making a home visit. The Dr. Best Museum is an absolute treasure…if you have not toured yet, you’ve missed out on a huge piece of Middleburgh’s history! Check drbestmuseum.org for information on hours, tour details and volunteer information. Check their event calendar too! Mayhem in Middleburgh and Trail of Treats are both coming up in October!
