Last week, Unity Foundation gathered with fundholders, nonprofit partners, board members, and friends of Unity for two Investment Forum sessions focused on how thoughtful investment stewardship helps strengthen La Porte County now and forever.

Thank you to Allison Gormier of Mason Investment Advisory Services for sharing an update on Unity’s investment strategy and performance. Mason has partnered with Unity since 2015, and a majority of their institutional clients are community foundations, giving them a strong understanding of the unique role endowments play in local philanthropy.

We are also excited to announce Swanson Center as the nonprofit winner of the $2,000 endowment fund contribution. Thank you, Swanson Center, for the critical care and resources you provide to our community!

Unity Foundation’s Power for Good Community Grant application is now open!

Qualified nonprofits, governmental bodies, and educators serving La Porte County may apply for grants up to $5,000 to support projects that enhance quality of life and strengthen La Porte County. Churches are also invited to apply for non-religious community projects/programs.

In 2025, Unity awarded $240,000 to 60 local organizations, supporting projects, partnerships, and community needs across La Porte County.

Reminder! Applications for Power for Good Community Grants open next Monday, June 1 and will be accepted through July 10, 2026.

Eligible organizations may apply for competitive grants up to $5,000. Last year, we were honored to award 60 local organizations a total of $240,000 through this program!

It was a beautiful day to celebrate the graduates of the 42nd cohort of Leadership La Porte County! We were proud to see our Marketing & Program Manager, Marisa Rempala, among them.

Wear BLUE this Wednesday, 5-27-2026, to stand with Deputy Jon Samuelson, his family, the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office, 911 dispatchers, first responders, and the entire Franciscan Health Michigan City team. 💙

Schools, businesses, organizations, and families across La Porte County are coming together to show support and solidarity. Post your blue, tag your friends, your school, your workplace, and use so we can flood social media with support from every corner of our community.

Our goal is to learn more about the needs, challenges, strengths, and hopes of the nonprofit community here in La Porte County.

To best do that, we need YOUR voice!

👉We want to hear from as many nonprofit staff members, board members, volunteers, and supporters as possible to ensure that we are building an inclusive, expansive, and accurate understanding of the realities for nonprofits in La Porte County.
