And just like that, The Dennis Project, Inc. is back in the community for a new school year 🧬🧪⚙️🔩🧫

Yesterday we met the amazing teens in Broward County Parks Teen Enrichment Program at Lafayette Hart Park.

This year the teens will explore how STEM is used to solve real-life problems and enhance our lives. And, how they can pursue high paying jobs, college pathways and skilled trades in STEM.

First stop - electrical engineering using Snap Circuits! They challenged themselves and built circuits that play music, power a motor, and pick up a radio frequency. They were amazing!

In 22 days I will celebrate my 50th birthday. Wow, time flies! 🎂 🎉🥳

As in years past, I'm always grateful for every moment, every blessing, every heartache, and life itself. God has been so gracious to allow me to thrive by reaching out to my community.

14 years ago, I saw an unmet need for quality STEM teaching and learning in underserved communities like the one I grew up in. My solution - I founded The Dennis Project., in honor of the legacy of my grandmother Amelia Dennis.

Ms. Dennis was EVERYTHING! Alongside teaching in S. Florida's inner-city, she raised me to always strive to be a good human being. Her last words to me in 1994 were "Be good". I've been trying to do that every day.

Through TDP, I dedicate my talents to enriching others through education programs (You all see the MANY post, lol). But, the impact, fulfillment, joy and love I feel from what we do I can't put into words or a pic.

This year, I'm asking you to celebrate my birthday with me by supporting our mission at TDP. We need your help to expand the Teen Science Cafe program and offer more girl-centered STEM programming.

Stop #32 and our last STEMtastic workshop of with The Dennis Project, Inc.

What a great way to close it out at a Back-to-School event at the Faith and Love Empowerment Center in the City of North Lauderdale.

Today our Jr. Engineers learned the simplest robots only need a motor and power source. Then they built a simple bot powered by a battery, with markers for legs that wiggled and scribbled across paper to make art designs. ⚙️🔩 🎨 🤖

It was a great time with the teens at Sunshine's Heart, Inc. summer camp in City of Miami Gardens,

The teen Engineering Challenge was to build more intricate Snap Circuits projects that light up, make sounds, and move. They surpassed my expectations, as usual! ⚙️🔩⚡️
