Last Halloween season, a few pumpkin seeds somehow found their way into the flower bed outside the RISE Missouri Opportunity Center. Then winter came, spring brought plenty of rain, and summer sunshine helped those little seeds grow into an amazing pumpkin plant!

Now, our SELF Program participants got to harvest their pumpkins and are looking forward to giving them a spooky makeover. What started as a happy accident turned into a fun fall activity and a pretty great pumpkin patch right outside our doors!

We can’t wait to see what our “accidental pumpkins” become! 🎃👻

Happy Halloween!

This time of year, many people celebrate monsters and ghouls. Here at RISE Utah, there is another type of monster being cheered on – monster trucks! We had a blast at an adrenaline-pumping event filled with thrilling stunts and roaring engines.

🍂 Fall Calm Corner Tip from RISE Oregon: Embrace Sensory Changes! 🍁

As the seasons shift, individuals with IDD and sensory sensitivities may feel the impact of these changes. To foster a comfortable environment, create a familiar Calm Corner filled with sensory tools, cozy items, headphones, or favorite activities. Remember, it's important to allow for breaks when needed. A calm space can greatly aid in regulation, communication, and participation!

Let’s make sure everyone feels supported this fall! 🌟

Last month at RISE Idaho, our RISE Above groups had a blast making bracelets and participated in the ever-popular bingo tournament! 🎉 Participants also learned how to create their own homemade raspberry freezer jam, following a recipe step by step, and got to take home the delicious jam they made! 🍇✨
