As we look ahead to the next few weeks, we have two incredible opportunities to bring our mission to life. These events represent the absolute best of what we do—connecting people, preserving history, and giving back to our community.

đźš— Bringing Back Memories at Brookdale Memory Care

Last year’s car show at the Brookdale Memory Care facility was nothing short of unforgettable. There is something truly powerful about seeing our vehicles spark a moment of clarity and joy for the residents. Watching smiles light up their faces as they recollected old memories, or remembered their own proud time in the service, was a profound reminder of why we do this. The stories they shared didn't just entertain us; they humbled and inspired us. We have the unique privilege of bringing history alive for them once again this year, and I know it will be just as meaningful for us as it is for them.

🎆 Honoring History at the Mesa Celebration of Freedom

Following that, we will be bringing our display to the vibrant Mesa Celebration of Freedom. This event is always an energetic, high-spirited gathering packed with fantastic entertainment, food vendors, and activities for all ages. It is our chance to stand tall in the community, share our passion with the public, and celebrate the incredible freedoms we all enjoy.

Our vehicles are more than just steel and paint—they are moving history books and inspire powerful memories. Let’s turn out, show our support, and make these next few weeks truly memorable.

Thank you all for your dedication and support. Let's make these events our best ones yet!

Due to the heat, the events for the next months will be a little light. The week of June 15th, I will put out some additional events including a Gilbert road cruise for Ice Cream and some possible Tech day opportunities. This is a great time to spend some time working on your vehicles, and getting them ready for upcoming events.

I would highly recommend seeing the movie Pressure, the official release date is tomorrow Friday May 29th.

This Memorial Day, we marked a momentous occasion with a 5-mile convoy of vehicles, moving at a slow and enjoyable pace, with some members to Hen House Cafe. A considerable number of passersby took a moment to wave and give a thumbs-up. It was a day of reflection and togetherness.

Honoring the Legacy: A Memorial Day Message to Our Members

As Memorial Day approaches, our nation pauses to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. For our club, this day carries a profound, tangible weight.

Every vehicle we restore, every piece of history we preserve, and every story we share is directly connected to the individuals who stood in the line of fire. The steel, paint, and engines we care for are not just machinery—they are living monuments to the courage, duty, and sacrifice of generations past.

Why Our Mission Matters

To the world, these are historic military vehicles. But to us, and to the veterans and families who see them, they are powerful symbols of remembrance:

Preserving Living History: We keep alive the physical reminders of the environments our service members endured, ensuring their stories are never forgotten.

Connecting Generations: When a veteran sees a vehicle they once served in, or when a child touches a piece of living history for the first time, a bridge across time is built.

Honoring the Fallen: By meticulously maintaining this equipment, we pay tribute to the hands that originally operated them—many of belonging to heroes who never made it home.

"Our vehicles are rolling monuments. They remind us that freedom is never free, and they ensure that the legacy of America’s defenders remains visible, loud, and unforgettable."

Join us on Memorial Day Monday as we meet to drive our historical military vehicles 5 miles through the streets of Gilbert in remembrance of this special day!

At the end of this 5 miles we will stop and enjoy breakfast together at the Hen House Cafe. This location has a large dirt parking lot where we line up the vehicles for a mini cruise in car show for the restaurant patrons to enjoy.

The previous two times at this location we have met Veterans that are over 80 years old. Listening to their life as a Veteran has made this a very popular location.

In the afternoon, you are welcome to join us at Harkins Tempe Marketplace Theater for a pre-screening of "Pressure". A WWII movie about the launch the D-Day invasion or risk losing World War II altogether.

Such a great event today even though we only had Matt & Berri Walker, DR Baron, Darren, Brian and myself show up. Started the morning meeting at the Kolache Cafe in Gilbert for breakfast and socializing. Great to catch up with Dr. Baron. He has a new partner Sgt. Duecey that goes along for the ride and display to the onlookers. You can tell the amount of time and thought put into having this display.

After breakfast we headed to Streetside Classics were we were met by Eddie Edward’s, the sales manager and his team. What an exceptional group of people and showroom with over 260 cars indoor for sale. The place is a museum of every type of classic vehicle you can imagine. They even had their photographer Tommy King do a photo shoot of our military vehicles.

If you’re in the market for a classic car or truck, I would highly recommend all Streetside Classics has to offer. Also you’re very welcome to come out and look at these vehicles. The atmosphere is not like a regular dealership. This is a fun place to spend your day.

We are looking forward to share the photos they took of our members vehicles that came out today. And I am looking forward to coming back. So many choices, but I really would not mind having the yellow Lotus.
