It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Dennis Gene Bartoletti, 78, of Phoenix, Arizona. Dennis passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer and Parkinson’s disease.

Dennis proudly served our country in the U.S. Army, completing two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter gunner on the Huey. His bravery earned him numerous honors, but beyond the medals, he carried with him the stories of brotherhood and sacrifice.

After his service, Dennis entered the car business, eventually opening Bueno Used Cars, Inc. on Van Buren in 1986. Known for honesty and loyalty, Dennis became a cornerstone of Arizona’s buy-here-pay-here industry.

On a personal note, I’ll always remember Dennis and his son Tony giving me a chance when I was just starting out. I was in my early 20s, just a young pup in the game, but Dennis sold me a handful of his old trades here and there, and later Tony bought cars from me. They treated me with respect long before others would, and I’ll never forget that.

Dennis is survived by his beloved wife Raynette, his son Anthony, his daughter Elizabeth (with her husband Sunil), and his grandchildren Emma, Christian, and Camden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Dollie, and his sister, Donata.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th St., Phoenix, AZ. The family asks that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley in his memory.

Dennis will be remembered for his generosity, his larger-than-life presence, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Hey everyone!

Last night was the AIADA Texas Hold'em Tournament hosted by the awesome folks over at Metro Auto Auction Phoenix . We had a SOLD OUT event with over 110 of the finest car folks in the business going all in to see who could claim the title of top poker shark.

We had a fantastic evening, with a barbecue dinner dished up by Up in Smoke Barbecue, trust me, nobody left hungry. The Beautiful Dream Dealers kept the cards flying and the spirits high, and the open bar didn't hurt either.

Huge shoutout to Metro Auto Auction for being such generous hosts.

And of course, big thanks to our sponsors:

Manheim Phoenix,

ADESA Phoenix,

Dealers Auto Auction of the Southwest,

ACV Auctions,

Collins Law Group,

National Lenders,

Assured Partners,

Buckeye Risk Services,

and Podium.

You all made this night possible.

If you missed it, well, you missed a hell of a good time—but there's always next time! Thanks again to everyone who came out and made it such a memorable night.

UPDATE - Secure Odometer Policy Change - Extension

We’ve received an important update regarding the recent changes to odometer disclosure requirements from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT).

Good news — ADOT will be extending the compliance deadline to
November 1, 2025.

This extension allows dealers additional time to transition to the approved odometer disclosure forms and ensure compliance. Furthermore, any errors previously submitted will be reverted and corrected through November 1st, giving everyone a clean slate to make the necessary adjustments.

In the meantime, please ensure you are preparing to use only the following two approved forms going forward:

Form #96-0165 (green carbon copy form – wet signature required)

Form #96-0695 (electronic form – digital signature required)

ADOT has clarified that homemade or alternative odometer forms will not be accepted. This policy exists for several reasons:

* Many non-standard forms do not include the federally and statutorily required verbiage, which creates legal and compliance risks.

* Standardizing the forms streamlines processing and makes it easier for ADOT to review and verify documentation efficiently.

* Regardless of format, wet signatures or electronic signatures captured on a dealer’s signature pad are still required.

As always, we will continue to keep you updated and advocate on your behalf to ensure smooth transitions and fair processes.

Urgent Update on ADOT Odometer Statement Policy Change

Dear Members,

We want to inform you of an important change from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) that took effect immediately and without prior notice. Going forward, only two specific forms for odometer statements will be accepted: the green carbon copy form ( #96-0165) and the electronic form ( #96-0695). The carbon copy form must have a wet signature, and the electronic form must be signed electronically. No other forms or signatures will be accepted.

We understand that this change may cause delays in title work and registration processes. We are actively working with ADOT and the New Car Association to find a solution or to secure a grace period to help ease this transition.

In the meantime, we encourage all dealers to ensure they have the correct forms on hand and to adjust their processes accordingly.

If you're not yet a member of the Arizona Independent Automobile Dealers Association, now is the perfect time to join. Together, our voices are stronger, and we can continue to advocate effectively for the interests of all dealers in Arizona. Join us today and be a part of a united community that works tirelessly on your behalf.

📣 Successful Resolution of Odometer Correction Policy Issue

Just a few weeks ago, the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) implemented a halt on all odometer corrections statewide, causing immediate disruption and financial strain for many of you.

In response, we immediately reached out to several of our daily contacts at ADOT, as well as key allies—including our colleagues at the Arizona Automobile Dealers Association (the New Car Association). We owe a special debt of gratitude to Bobbi Sparrow for her instrumental role in this effort. Thanks to her swift action and the outstanding collaboration between our associations, we were able to engage ADOT leadership directly and work toward a solution.

As a result, ADOT has updated their policy to allow odometer corrections under specific scenarios. This is a testament not only to the strength of our association, but also to the incredible teamwork with the New Car Association.

If you're not yet a member of the AIADA, now is the perfect time to join us and ensure your voice is heard. Together, we are stronger and more impactful!

Thank you for your continued support, and a special thank you to Bobbi Sparrow and the New Car Association for their invaluable partnership.
