Hello and Happy Wednesday!
Surf N' Chess proudly offers a chess experience that is unique but relatively consistent across all our schools. Today's post will help give an idea of what a typical day looks like for SNC students.
First, the chess master in charge of the school arrives and sets up the room. This includes any rearrangement of desks, setting up chess boards, prizes, and of course our custom playlist.
Second, the chess master retrieves the students or the students come to the chess room. Every chess master welcomes the students with a bright smile. This combined with the prizes, chess sets, and music helps to set the atmosphere we strive for.
Third, the chess master instructs the students with a chess lesson. This can also be used to show puzzles and build upon previous lessons.
Fourth, the chess master allows a set amount of time for the students to play games with their peers. The chess master will carefully watch the games and correct any mistakes or answer any questions.
Finally, the chess master signals it's time to clean up. Once the room is cleaned prizes are called. Each student receives up to two tickets during the chess day. If their number is called they are allowed to pick a prize from the prizes available.
We hope this quick summary of a typical SNC day was informative. As always Surfs Up Baby!
