Congratulations to longtime Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital Foundation ambassador Tammy Dassow, who was recently awarded with the DAISY Award, a recognition program to celebrate and recognize nurses who are nominated by patients, families, and co-workers.
The nomination came from a recent patient:
“I will never forget the compassion she showed us. From the moment she introduced herself, she brought a sense of comfort and reassurance that we desperately needed. She cared for us – seeing us as people, not just patients moving through a schedule. She exceeded every expectation. She was unbelievably attentive, always making sure we understood what was happening and that we felt supported through each step. She did not just give updates – she gave comfort, clarity, and peace.
Her presence made a stressful day feel manageable, and even hopeful. What truly stood out was the kindness in everything she did. She encouraged us, uplifted us, and made us feel safe in a moment that we felt vulnerable. She promotes a culture of excellence simply by being who she is. She builds meaningful human connections, and she reflects the very best of what nursing can be.
Her professionalism, heart, and dedication shine so brightly that it is impossible not to notice.
She made a difference for our family in a way we will always remember, and she truly deserves to be honored for the extraordinary nurse she is.”
Tammy, who works in Home Today Surgery, was honored with the foundation’s Stellar Staff Award in 2018.
