Today chapter 2 along with Rolling Thunder Wisconsin Ch 5 es**rted U.S. Army Pvt Elmer F. Blonien.
84 years ago U.S. Army Pvt Elmer F Blonien passed away in the Philippines in a POW/MIA camp. Elmer walked and survived the Bataan Death March
Back in January, the day of what would have been Elmer’s mother’s Birthday, the family of Elmer found out his remains were found and that he will be coming home to Wisconsin.

U.S. Army Pvt Elmer F. Blonien, Company A, 192nd Tank Battalion, died in Cabanatuan Prisoner of War (POW) Camp, Philippines on November 15, 1942, due to a splenic abcess after undergoing splenectomy in POW camp. At the time of death, he was 27 years old, he was POW dead soldier number 2,236 and was buried with 14 other soldiers in Common Grave #721, in Cabanatuan POW Cemetery. In tribute, the American Legion Post 485, in Rudolph, Wisconsin changed its name to the Elmer F. Blonien Post and still retains the name today.
