The Giant Pumpkin Festival is a fund raising event that brings the community together to watch a ridiculous pumpkin "boat" race, sample local foods, enjoy the thrills of a pie eating contest, seed spitting contest and largest pumpkin grown weigh-in. Local artists and farmers from the surrounding areas also come together to share and sell their goods and food to all attendees at the festival. The M

enominee Downtown Development Authority, along with the Menominee Historic Downtown Farmer's Market sponsors the festival. The highlight event is a Giant Pumpkin Race between assorted sponsor businesses from the cities of Menominee and Marinette.
