2026 Polk County Livestock Judging Banquet

Here’s the last banquet post and likely the most important. A special thanks to these individuals, organizations and businesses who made our banquet a success. You helped ensure our team members were appropriately recognized and appreciated. -JH

2026 Polk County Livestock Judging Banquet

The next award presented was the Perfect Practice Attendance Award. These team members made every practice. We’re not talking about five or six practices either. To compete on the level that is our goal…you must develop a consistent practice schedule that eventually becomes a routine. Let’s just say we practice a lot.

2026 Polk County Livestock Banquet

The next award presented was our “Top Talker” Award. Reasons are important to us and our team has had success in the reasons room in the past and present. We have 4 seniors, 2 intermediates, and 1 junior awarded the “Top Talker” Award for 2026. The following seniors talked a 47 at least once, if not, multiple times this year. The intermediates talked a 46 at least once this year. The junior age category receiptant was deceided upon at practice.

Here’s the Coach’s favorite award - the Most Improved Livestock Judging Team Member. Our three most improved livestock judging team members for the junior, intermediate and senior categories are as followed:

Sophia Hughes - Most Improved Intermidate Livestock Judging Team Member

Tessa Horton - Most Improved Junior Livestock Judging Team Member

As a group…we improved more this year than any other year. That’s what it’s all about for us. We’re hopeful these members along with many others return next year to build upon their livestock judging abilities.

2026 Polk County Livestock Judging Banquet

We had two recipients of our Supporter of the Year Award for 2026. The Polk County Fair and Rodeo Association and Polk County Farm Bureau were the recipients of the award. Dominique Adams, board member of the Polk County Fair and Rodeo Association, attended on behalf of the fair board to receive the recognition. Tony Hopper, Agency Manager of Polk County Farm Bureau, attended on behalf of Polk County Farm Bureau and their board to receive the recognition.

The Polk County Livestock Judging Team would like to recognize and thank both receipients for their continued contributions to our program.

We have been Reserve State Champions or State Champions for 3 of the past 4 years with a different team each time.
