Another outstanding Rotary Club of Memphis weekly meeting!

We were honored to welcome guest speaker Douglas Scarboro, Senior Vice President and Regional Executive of the Memphis Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Douglas shared valuable insights about the role of the Federal Reserve and the important work being done at the Memphis Branch, which serves western Tennessee, eastern Arkansas, and northern Mississippi through bank supervision, cash services, community development, and economic education. He also highlighted the rich history of the Memphis Branch, which was established in Memphis in 1918 to support the region’s growing economy and banking system.

We also took time to recognize and honor the life and legacy of Jed Dreifus. Fellow Rotarian Joe Birch paid a heartfelt tribute to Jed, reflecting on his many contributions to the Rotary Club of Memphis and his lasting impact on the Memphis community. Jed’s leadership, service, and dedication to making Memphis a better place will long be remembered.

The Memphis Rotary Club was honored to welcome University of Memphis Head Football Coach Charles Huff as our guest speaker this week! Coach Huff shared his vision for building a successful winning culture for Memphis Tigers Football — not only on the field, but in the classroom as well. His commitment to developing student-athletes academically and personally was inspiring to hear.

Coach Huff also discussed exciting updates surrounding the west stadium renovations and emphasized the importance of community support, encouraging Tiger fans across Memphis to show up, get involved, and help create an electric atmosphere for the team this season.

With an impressive coaching career that includes conference championships, bowl victories, and helping develop championship-caliber programs, Coach Huff brings tremendous leadership, energy, and experience to the University of Memphis. His passion for the city and the future of Tigers football was evident throughout his presentation.
