#𝙆𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜𝘿𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙄𝙣𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙙 | DNAmemphis.org ~ The Memphis City Council has approved $5 million in funding for critical repairs and upgrades at AutoZone Park, helping ensure the long-term future of one of Downtown Memphis’ most important assets. The funding will address major infrastructure needs, including fire suppression systems, HVAC upgrades, safety improvements, and other projects required to meet Major League Baseball standards.

AutoZone Park has been a cornerstone of Downtown Memphis for more than 25 years, serving as home to the Memphis Redbirds while also generating tourism, supporting local businesses, creating jobs, and hosting countless community events.

“AutoZone Park is more than just a baseball stadium—it’s a place where memories are made and where thousands of people come together to enjoy everything Downtown Memphis has to offer. Investing in its future is an investment in our city’s future. I want to thank the Memphis City Council for hearing our concerns, reading the Downtown Neighborhood Association’s letter of support, and voting to approve these critical funds. Your support helps ensure our beloved Memphis Redbirds and AutoZone Park remain a source of pride for Memphis for years to come” said Downtown Neighborhood Association President Jerred Price.

#𝙆𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜𝘿𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙄𝙣𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙙 | DNAmemphis.org ~ Mayor Paul Young confirmed on Tuesday that xAI will recommence construction of its water recycling plant for the Memphis supercomputer, with plans to resume by 2027.

The decision follows a temporary pause announced in April to prioritize more immediate projects at the site, although the plans for the water plant remain unchanged. Young stated that the construction of the water recycling plant is a crucial step forward for Memphis, its aquifer, and the city's long-term sustainability.

The facility is expected to offset water usage for both SpaceX AI and TVA, with the city's engagement continuing until its completion.

Join the Downtown Neighborhood Association for a free, family-friendly extravaganza happening Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Tom Lee Park.

Enjoy three stages of live music, savor food from local vendors, and explore games and activities suitable for all ages. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for a night of community and celebration that concludes with a dazzling drone show and fireworks display over the Mississippi River at 9:00 PM.
