Island Harvest is a 2025 Bank of America Neighborhood Builders® recipient!

We were so proud to be honored alongside fellow 2025 recipient Long Island Housing Partnership, as well as 2024 recipients Long Island Children's Museum and United Veterans Beacon House.

Neighborhood Builders is one of the nation's largest and longest-running philanthropic investments in nonprofit leadership, providing funding and leadership development opportunities to organizations advancing economic mobility and creating stronger communities.

“This Neighborhood Builders investment allows us to continue expanding our impact, reaching more individuals, strengthening our workforce development efforts, and helping more Long Islanders move toward economic stability and self-sufficiency,” said Randi Shubin Dresner, president & CEO of Island Harvest accepting the award.

Thank you to Bank of America for investing in organizations that are making a meaningful impact across Long Island. We're doing important work together! 🧡

It’s graduation season! Congrats to ours – the newest graduates of Island Harvest’s Workforce Skills Development Institute!

It was a truly special day filled with love, encouragement, and hope as proud families, instructors, sponsors, and community leaders gathered to celebrate this incredible achievement. We were honored to be joined by New York State Senator Siela Bynoe and Suffolk County Legislator Jason Richberg, who shared words of encouragement and expressed their support for this innovative program.

By addressing the root causes of food insecurity, our Workforce Skills Development Institute creates lasting pathways to economic stability to end hunger on Long Island.

We are incredibly proud of our graduates and look forward to all they will accomplish in the years ahead.

📦 Forklifts and new opportunities! 💪

Today, students in our Workforce Skills Development Institute are completing forklift certification training as they enter their final full week before graduation on June 10.

After successfully earning five other industry-recognized certifications, our students continue to demonstrate the determination and hard work needed to succeed in today's workforce. We have no doubt they'll bring that same energy to mastering this final skill.

We're now recruiting for our Fall 2026 Workforce Skills Development Institute class. Please share this post with someone who could benefit from free job training, industry certifications, and career readiness support.
