What a weekend 🤎

A huge thank you to the Medfield Historical Society for including the 375th Anniversary Parade & Celebration in this year’s History Weekend — from our banner riding along on the trolley tours to a few special moments shared at the Dwight-Derby House reception.

It was incredible to see so many people out celebrating Medfield’s history…

And it’s a perfect reminder of why October 17, 2026 will be so special.

We can’t wait to celebrate together 🤎

We have many "thank-you" messages for all the Medfield History Weekend support received! Today, we'll focus on our trio of big financial contributors starting with presenting sponsors Needham Bank and Wasabi Asian Bistro&Bar. Their sponsorship of our three days of activities, events and site openings was critical to our success.

We're also eternally grateful to Medfield Cultural Council (the local agency for Mass Cultural Council) for a significant grant to help cover expenses related to the King Philip's War historical marker unveiling, plus Medfield History Weekend.

THANK YOU Needham Bank, Wasabi Asian Bistro & Bar and Medfield Cultural Council!

Don't miss author Wally Hersee at Dwight-Derby House on Sunday, 4/26 from 1-3 p.m. -- another Medfield History Weekend featured event. No tickets needed -- just stop in. He'll be chatting with visitors and signing his new book, "To Defend All That Is Dear: The Soldiers Who Served Sturbridge," which profiles 186 previously unknown Revolutionary War soldiers from the area. Where is the Medfield connection? So many residents from prominent Medfield families moved to the official town outpost of Sturbridge in 1720s, that it was once named "New Medfield." Wally was raised in current-day Medfield and is a Medfield HS graduate. His father was the beloved school music director. Stop in, say hello, and take a look at one of the town's beloved historical landmarks at 7 Frairy St.

Peak House Heritage Center, Lowell Mason House, Medfield Historical Society, Kingsbury Gristmill and Medfield Public Library will also be open for visitors! Tickets requested due to space limitations, but not mandatory. https://www.ticketsource.com/historic-medfield
