The Mad River Rotary Annual Fall Fundraiser Dinner is coming up, and this year’s event will directly benefit MCSD and McKinleyville BMX (McKBMX)! 🎉 Proceeds will help us bridge the funding gap left from the 2020 grant awarded to build the much-needed restroom and concession stand at the new BMX Track & Park. 🏞️🚻🍔

A good time was had by all at the inaugural Bike Rodeo in Mckinleyville. Mckinleyville Community Services District and Mckbmx hosted this event to help get families out to Pierson Park and enjoy all things bikes. Mckbmx and Humboldt Skatepark Collective shared knowledge about bike safety on the road. The Providence St Joes Trauma crew provided information about helmet use and brain injury prevention as well as giving away free helmets to anyone that needed. Revolution Bikes and Redwood Coast Mountian Bike Alliance provided bike inspections and information about local trails. Mountain Bike Tribal Trail Alliance along with Two Feathers Family Services came strong with a fleet of bikes for people of all ages to ride and a free shuttle up to the new community forest trails. Our great friends at Redwood Empire BMX showed up and helped spread the word about our local BMX race scene and raffles off some gear. And our local Humboldt Composite High School mountain bike crew was on hand to share information about joining in on the ever growing competitive high school mountain bike crew. Cruz N Kitchen pulled up and served up great food as always.

Official ground breaking ceremony today. This project couldn't have gotten to this point without a whole community effort. MCSD, Parks and Rec team, Humboldt Skate Park Collective, MckBMX, Mckinleyville Chamber of Commerce, and sooo many community members/agencies that contributed.
